I hope I am posting this in the right forum.

OK, disclaimer, not a month has gone by, in going on 4 years, that my rent hasn't been paid in full, at least by the end of month, 97% of the time within 10 days.
Then, in March and April, April especially or was it March, I hit a brick wall. And in April, he proposed weekly. Well, got week one in, this month. And week two, after all other bills paid, out of pocket training, blah blah blah...etc, child support wasn't direct deposited at the beginning of the week. And last night, had a nice voice mail from him.
*sarcasm* kind enough to call while getting the kids off to bed. ((never mind in March, he showed up at my door at 7am while I was in my PJ's, kids opened the door because they were used to the little girl I mind in the morning.
OK...there is much to this story, and much history. Anyways, I'm a little late, by say, 3 days now?
VM says if I cannot pay on time, I can look for a new place to live.

My payday, biweekly, is tomorrow. I am considering a lawyer, due to the 'issue' I've been having with the place, that he was aware of.

Fortunately, he doesn't have the new keys, from when I changed the locks/doorknobs myself.

I've got to get ready for work...omg...I haven't slept all night. Unnerved.

In my haste. When I do pay on the 1st or the beginning of the week, 'funny' how the check doesn't get cashed immediately.

So, what's the deal with that? Is it a 'date' game or poor boundary setting with me?

I'm sprry you are having this problem paying your rent on time. It is tough when you have to rely on other people to pay you (child supprt) so you can pay your own bills.

I will say though, as a former landlord, your rent money may mean the same for your landlord. He probably has a mortgage on your place and he may need your rent to pay it. Also, I'm sure he has expenses with the property such as taxes, repairs, etc. that he has to pay. Unfortunately, you signed a lease (I assume) where you promised to pay your rent by a certain date each month or the landlord can take action. For some reason he decided to take action all of a sudden.

Why don't you talk to your landlord and see if you can renegotiate the due date for your rent. Most people pick the first of the month out of habit. He may be able to accept the 15th or the 30th. See if you can pick a date when you are reasonable sure you will have the money. He will probably agree. It is easier to keep a tenant than it is to find a new one.
Thanks for this!

Sorry to hear you're going through this. I hope you're able to work out a resolution that works for everyone and not be stressed by it anymore.

I wrote a letter: Dropping it off in his mail slot, with this weeks payment.

Here it is...certain parts ****'d out....

*******,
In April, you expressed a desire to ensure that you received your rent, and that you would arrange for me, to pay you, on a weekly basis. In May, I payed you, four weeks worth of rent, totaling $??????. The weekly amounts are $??????. You said that you see these arrangements all the time, with the IRS.
Now, I am current through 6/7/13. And am submitting payment, for week ending 6/14/13.
I am confused, by why you yelled on my voicemail, and threatened to have me, a single mom, with MS, leave a home that I have resided in for almost 4 years.
I consider myself a good tenant. I don't throw wild parties, I am a sober individual, who works hard for a living. Which, by the way, I was recently promoted to ******, at the ******l, in ******. That was in May.
I am baffled by the implications that you may have rescinded your verbal offer to have me pay, rent, on a weekly basis.
Included with this letter, is my rent check for the second week in June.
I am not often available to talk on the phone, due to struggling to help my three sons with their homework, two of which have developmental delays and receive extra speech and language services through the Town. I need to focus my energies on practicing with them, and aiding my oldest. Who, by the way, placed 3rd in the State for Youth Wrestling and is now going to start full contact football in the Fall, with many of his friends. My other two sons are also part of the wrestling program.
I would appreciate, knowing why, you are considering me late on the rent?!
I am an upstanding member of this community, just as much as anyone else. And am appalled, that because I've been through some struggles this year, I am basically going to be forced into no mans land, with my credit troubles, from when I first become ill, when I was 25 years old.
My mom, passed away from ovarian cancer over three years ago. I was her only child. I have a small family, and have lived rather independent all these years. I am current with my electric and renters insurance and car insurance, and in case anyone is wondering why I have a new vehicle, my uncle gifted me his old one, when he upgraded this year, because my other car, had rotted on the undercarriage and wouldn't pass inspection, even though it passed the year prior.

I hope things with your landlord are worked out. I'm sorry that things aren't going smoothly.

Thanks. Prime example of what I mean about the date game. Check was dropped off, at his door mail slot, on Thursday evening. It's well past noon, on Saturday and my check hasn't cleared from my bank.

However, I had the brainiac idea to scan copies of my checks to time/date stamp them electronically, to prove in a court of law, if god forbid that should come to that point....

Never did mention the one time he used his gun permit as id that was listed on the back of my voided check....

Just a side point if you pay weekly rather than monthly you're paying for an extra 4 weeks a year
