as horrible as I feel right now I just had an image of Bender going in one of the suicide booths, I personally do not care how people change there appearance if it makes them happy!
I just wish people could feel more happy, depression is horrible .
I believe each human being is a work of art, each of us an original part of the whole.
Thanks for this!

Not that I am against abortion, I think it should be allowed especially after a rape. But too many people see $$$ when they pop out a kid. They get a free ride and the rest of us pay for it, I should not have to pay for a kid I did not help make.

Suicide is another thing I think that should be allowed. Again as long as someone else's rights aren't impinged upon or hurt or killed in the process. Not all of us in this want to be here nor asked to be here. Why should we have to suffer with the rest of the world?
Two people make a baby (or in this instance of abortion, a fetus) so the one sided language is a bit. Well. One sided.

I am curious, you're okay with abortion after rape, but it doesn't seem like you're completely pro-choice if it isn't rape. Yet you think suicide SHOULD be allowed? hm...

As for a license just... lol I don't know why people think this is a good idea? From what I gather on this forum a lot of us struggle with the actions of government. Yet, we seem more than willing to put the government in charge of picking parents? Knowing our government and how they tend to follow institutionalized ideas; no one with mental illness could have a child, no one who was abused could have a child, no woman identifying person who has slept with more than one partner will be allowed to have a child, and lets not even get into the disabled category because we know how that will end!

Autonomy is a debate that will never end. I am, as far as I am concerned, allowed to do what I want with my body as I see fit. Be that getting tattoos (of which I have), piercings, plastic surgery, corrective surgery, etc. To think that anyone else would have a say is a bit absurd. That's like saying "you are your own person but you need to follow these rules which makes you into a copy of others". I don't think any of these choices deem someone incapable or troubled. I have been asked numerous times if I got my tattoos in moments of distress, mostly because the people asking know I am mentally ill. The truth is I didn't get my first tattoo until I considered it for three years and perfected how I wanted it to look.

As long as someone is not hurting others be that emotionally or physically, I don't see an issue really.

I do think if you wish to take your own life you should be allowed to w/out being committed...I don't like the idea of being forced against my will to conform to society's norm of "wanting to live and be happy" if I were in too much pain emotionally or physically.

I do not agree a mother should be allowed to do whatever she wishes to with her body with an unborn baby inside of her (assuming she plans on carrying it to term). In that case, her choices are affecting another life as well and may very well be causing unrepairable damage. But I still see it all the time, pregnant women drinking and or smoking...it's not like it's been made illegal. A certain responsibility is left up to the individual to take care of the life growing inside them.

That's why I think you should have to take parenting classes and have a "license" before having a child. Oh, and get a dog first, please, to see if you are even ready for the responsibility of pet ownership, let alone a child. And you should have to get a license to own a pet before you do that as well. Basically I don't trust people to take care of anyone else, not even themselves. But I do think they have the fundamental right to decide what they want to do with their bodies.

I have no idea if I went off topic or not...sorry if I did, just kinda rolled with it.
Great topic though, thanks.

i'm totally with you as far as ending life goes.

i think their are limits, and sometimes though it's sad to believe, their comes a time where " you mean everything to us, life is worth living, you've lots going for you" just won't work anymore.. if someone is really stuck and at the end of the road, then i think it should be allowed. i really do.

as for doing what you want with your body, i'd argue that.. it's your life, your body is part of your life, you do what you want to it- as long as you know what you are doing, and what the implications are going to be afterwards
