as horrible as I feel right now I just had an image of Bender going in one of the suicide booths, I personally do not care how people change there appearance if it makes them happy!
I just wish people could feel more happy, depression is horrible . I believe each human being is a work of art, each of us an original part of the whole. |

I am curious, you're okay with abortion after rape, but it doesn't seem like you're completely pro-choice if it isn't rape. Yet you think suicide SHOULD be allowed? hm... As for a license just... lol I don't know why people think this is a good idea? From what I gather on this forum a lot of us struggle with the actions of government. Yet, we seem more than willing to put the government in charge of picking parents? Knowing our government and how they tend to follow institutionalized ideas; no one with mental illness could have a child, no one who was abused could have a child, no woman identifying person who has slept with more than one partner will be allowed to have a child, and lets not even get into the disabled category because we know how that will end! Autonomy is a debate that will never end. I am, as far as I am concerned, allowed to do what I want with my body as I see fit. Be that getting tattoos (of which I have), piercings, plastic surgery, corrective surgery, etc. To think that anyone else would have a say is a bit absurd. That's like saying "you are your own person but you need to follow these rules which makes you into a copy of others". I don't think any of these choices deem someone incapable or troubled. I have been asked numerous times if I got my tattoos in moments of distress, mostly because the people asking know I am mentally ill. The truth is I didn't get my first tattoo until I considered it for three years and perfected how I wanted it to look. As long as someone is not hurting others be that emotionally or physically, I don't see an issue really.

i'm totally with you as far as ending life goes. i think their are limits, and sometimes though it's sad to believe, their comes a time where " you mean everything to us, life is worth living, you've lots going for you" just won't work anymore.. if someone is really stuck and at the end of the road, then i think it should be allowed. i really do. as for doing what you want with your body, i'd argue that.. it's your life, your body is part of your life, you do what you want to it- as long as you know what you are doing, and what the implications are going to be afterwards |
