Many people ask themselves "What's my purpose in life?"
For me, I don't think we have a purpose. We're just a living existence. Like animals, like trees, like insects, like plants, we just exist. Yes, we have a greater intelligence, and we've adapted to life in a different way than other species have, which I think is why people think we're supposed to have some sort of path or 'purpose', but the fact is we just don't. As humans we think too much, we over think things until the point of believing in something that doesn't exist. We have no path or destiny to fulfill, we're just living breathing things. Like everything else, we're born, we live, we die. We exist, we've existed. |

Respectfully disagree. People, individually, and in groups, do influence they way life is. Adopting an attitude of 'why bother' is apathetic and leads to downfalls.

It is true that some people just exist. It is also true that other people have a purpose. It is in our hand to chose what we do with the cards we were dealt in life.

I have a similar belief, I think we just exist for the most part. I think its just because I haven't found my purpose yet, I don't know what it is, or who I'm meant to be with.

Wow. Guess Im in the unpopular category again. Why am I surprised? I thought there would be more people who thought thier lives had purpose? No matter what, I always feel like the outsider.

If you always feel a certain way then perhaps you need to ask yourself why? Seems like your situational perception may be squewed?

I don't think that 'Why bother?' is the right attitude to have, either.
I just think that so many times there is so much importance and affirmation placed on what we do, who we are and what we can achieve. Which I suppose there's nothing wrong with that sometimes, except that for the most part we've forgotten that we are part of the animal kingdom as well, and we act in a way that puts us in a god-like position. We harness and eradicate all of the Earth's natural 'resources'; then we try to 'fix' it. We find ways to put people in space, which is sweet, for sure; but you just know there's people doing it to find other planets that sustain life so we have somewhere to go after we've finished ruining this one. For me it's more about perspective. I don't see us as any more or less important as any other species. But I think it has gone overlooked for too long that we are not the most important, nor the most intelligent, and that we need every other species on this planet in order to survive. Just my two cents. ![]()

I agree we are not really any better than certain animals we just have intelligence on our side.
