My friends, Tam and her husband, came last night and moved my furniture around so that my apartment looks much better. It's tiny, but they "created" a LR space. They moved my desk and hooked up my computer which they graciously had fixed for me. Tam's husband also put a chain lock on my door. I slept for the very first time in 3 1/2 years knowing no one could get in this apartment without me hearing him/her.

While they work, I sit in a chair and "have no opinion"! lol!! Can you imagine me without an opinion? They won't let me push or pull anything because of my chest injury. I can't pay them. There's not a thing I can do for them and it's hard for me to be on the receiving end of favors, but they are teaching me it's all right. They are true awesome possum friends. I am so blessed.

Jan that is wonderful! My Friends Helped Me Last Night
They truly do sound like awesome friends. And you were being a good friend also by allowing someone to do something for you-- that is the other half of a friendship-- just accepting a good deed.

You are the dearest person. I hope you know that. It is hard to take help. I think maybe by being the one who always gave in the past, I was sort of holding people away from me. I can't quite put it into words... Maybe I wasn't indebted that way... It feels so weird to know that those two people work themselves to death and then took their hard earned money and fixed my computer, bought my lock, and even my Taco Bell dinner and then worked for hours moving my furniture and setting things up for me. They are indeed, wonderful.

Hugs,

Jan

Jan, that's awesome!! Sky, in her infinite wisdom My Friends Helped Me Last Night, told me once that friends are God's way of apologizing for families. Can I get a big AMEN? My Friends Helped Me Last Night

I spent a long time wondering why people were nice to me, and still do sometimes, when I'm especially self-loathing -- but I've found that people who care about you like to help you. It makes them feel good and helps you get done stuff you can't do for yourself, so it's a win-win situation!

A big virtual hug to Tam, hubby and you! My Friends Helped Me Last Night

Love, Candy

It sounds like you have two wonderful friends. Accepting help from friends is just as important as giving. Giving of yourself is the key to friendship. And is something you do so well.

I am so glad you can sleep now. I wish I would have known you needed a chain on your door. I would have come installed a log chain to keep you safe. My Friends Helped Me Last Night

Thank you, BP Bear!

((((((((((((( BP Bear ))))))))))))))

You know, friend Cher said there was a huge ruckus outside my door last night. She said she called me at 4 a.m. and wanted to know if I was screaming. I apparently told her, "No.", and promptly went back to sleep. I didn't even remember her call today.

Normally I would have snapped instantly awake and gone to peep out the door to see what was happening. I knew that chain lock was there though and that I was safe. (Cher has one, too.)

I think that's the first really good, deep sleep I've had in four or five years.

Hugs,

Jan

Thank you ever so much!

I told Tam that all my friends think she and her hubby are great. She was absolutely stunned!

She said hubby was still laughing about me sitting in the chair and chattering while they worked. Oh well, at least I was entertaining while I was useless! lolololol!

Hugs,

Jan
