Yes I know its a bit early to be thinking about it but I want to have a cool one. Not like the one I had last year. Last year I just wore my Rolling Stones shirt and painted my nails black and went as a groupie. It flopped. So this year I am going to go as a Cereal Killer. I'll take little boxes of cereal and put them on a shirt, poke holes in them and put a plastic knife in it with red pain coming down out of the knife holes. I like this one. Its creative and original. I want to win the contest. Plus as an officer I am expected to dress up.

Wow, what an imaginative and original idea!! My kids asked me what I was going to dress up as this year. I thought and smirked back "A Mom". They couldn't appreciate the humor, lol.

When I was in Roma Italy, we were living in a hotel while my husband was working there. The other americans that were there & had been there for a few years were living in nice homes. They decided to have a halloween party. Well, in Italy, halloween isn't celebrated like we do here.....it is just "all saints day'. Costumes aren't even known about there. Well, living in a hotel didn't leave me with much to make a costume out of. So I had to get creative......what was laying around that I could get my hands on that could be taken legally out of the hotel.........well.........the toilet paper came to mind........a mummy also came to mind. The only wierd part left was getting the toilet paper wound around me & walking out of the hotel, driving to the party without being arrested for something that I couldn't have understood anyway. Well, it worked.....got there & had one of the most original costumes of all. It is amazing what one can do with a little immagination & not much to work with. Luckily we had our bathroom in our hotel room rather than down the hall like with most hotels.

That was my most memorable halloween. I do have a photo under eskielover of last halloween with me & my puppy in our witchie costumes.

My husband goes to France on business, years ago it was often, once near Halloween,he made little trick or treat bags up and gave them to his co-worker's kids, the man and his wife were from France, and didn't know about "trick or treat",but their kids liked it and thought it was very cool.
Many countries,in Europe,do not celebrate Halloween,it's more like you mentioned,"All Saints Day",which I believe is November 1st.
