I would love to hear about other contries and their provinces, states, or what ever else they might be called.

I'm in Florida, but by accident, not choice. I agree with lizardlady above, that if you don't live here, don't move here. The state as a whole is overcrowded, and the legislature seems eager to give away more land to developers.

I live in east central Florida. On the one hand, I can walk to the beach and drive to the big resorts in Orlando. On the other hand, it's miserably humid in summer. Winters are ok, but I hate summer. Also, red state, way too conservative for my blood.

I used to live in Vermont. Same New England "live and let live" philosophy. Lots of great culture, and close to Montreal, which is like being able to drive to Europe. On the other hand, winter is a bear.

My parents have the best of both worlds as they live in Florida and summer in Vermont.

...and the results are in!

Are you ready for this??

My town has just been named the third WORST place to live in the entire state of Oklahoma!

Hey, we used to be the FIRST WORST, so we dropped to third! There's mass chaos downtown and there's talk of building some sort of monument to commemorate the occasion.

What's the average percentage, nationwide?

I.T. -

That's a good question.
I used to work with this sort of data.
The numbers for 2012-2013 are ~ 30% nationwide.

California. Where I live is so bad. It's the Antelope Valley. It is a part of L.A. county that is neglected in every way. So if you need mental health treatment don't live in this part. However I am not well traveled but there are some very beautiful places to live in this state that have low crime and are high in nature .. Seems to me nature is the best remedy.

Werewoman, huzzah! lol.

Although I used to get very smug when Burlington, VT was named most livable city, or most groovy, or whatever, by different publications. I'm really glad that I raised my daughter there. And not in Florida.

I live in Victoria Australia. I knew I couldn't do it justice by describing details so if you have some time here is a site that can tell you about the part of the world that I live in.

I visited Ireland a couple of years ago and absolutely loved the land, the people, the place. Pure magic

I was born, raised, and live in northern California. For the most part, I feel blessed. California has just about every type of geography imaginable. Ocean, mountains, desert, valleys, and the temperate rain forest filled with giant, gorgeous redwood trees. Except for the extreme heat of summer in some places our weather is lovely. The nature in California is astounding. Truly beautiful in every way.

The people of California are, in general, not so friendly. I've traveled a lot around the U.S. and to various locations in the world; Californians seem to me to be the least friendly people I've encountered. I will say, however, that much of that unfriendliness has to do (I believe) with generally well-educated, thinking people who are frustrated with certain ways our society is faltering. Too much stress and it makes people cranky.

We have decent renter's rights in Calif, better than most states. Far and above the biggest disadvantage to living in California is the expense. We have a very high cost of living here. The less-desirable places are expensive, the highly desirable places are outrageously expensive. This state is very, very large so traveling from one part to another is quite a journey. If you don't have a great car and a whole lot of money for gas you are pretty much stuck, confined to your part of the state.

The diversity in this state is fabulous. So many kinds of people from so many places, it is a multi-textured land, for sure, and very progressive. We learn from each other's cultures and beliefs and such. There are all kinds of foods here, and so many fresh fruits and veggies all year 'round.
Thanks for this!
