and I just can't hide it.

I have only been on the internet for about five years now but since then, I have had dial-up.
DSL wasn't available where I live.
Anyways, as of today, it is finally available to us. I'm So Excited
I signed up and the guy said I should receive the modem next Thursday. I'm So Excited I'm So Excited I'm So Excited
What's so great about this, is that where I live, we only receive 26.4 speed on our phones, which is about half of regular phone speed, so you can imagine how slow MY dial-up is. I'm So Excited
I just can't wait til next Thursday. Wow, I even laid in bed last night just thinking about it. Am I going overboard about this? My husband thinks I'm a little silly about it but he is never on the internet, so he doesn't understand the frustration of how sloooow it is.
Anyways, I just had to tell someone that might understand my excitement.
I'm So Excited
Linda

I'm on broadband and I am still waiting to see the difference between that and dial-up. For me things are as slow as ever ........ but that doesn't mean I don't understand your excitement!

Way to go!!! It is perfectly normal to lie in bed and think about it. I have done the same.

Enjoy your new speed!

I'm So Excited I am so happy for you. When I got my computer in May all I had was Dial up only because it was a free trial. I couldn't afford to get anything at the time so I went with a free trial membership. Any who I hated it and my daughter went on these sites that had alot of colorful animation's and she wanted to go to Mtv and VH1. Well, that wasn't going to happen. It took literally minutes to pull anything up. I would walk away and do the dishes and come back and it was still loading. So once one of us went into a site we stayed for a bit because we didn't want to go through all of that again.

Boopers-Are ya ready for a whole different world? DSL opens new doors and that's no joke!!! I'm So Excited

I am very happy for you have fun surfing it's definitely I'm So Excited news.

Hi, I don't really understand it because I've been on the internet for about 2 months only because I couldn't afford it earlier. I have DSL from the very beginning (512 speed) and to visit certain sites sometimes even this is too slow (especially when your computer is not exactly state-of-the-art I'm So Excited) so I can't even imagine how it feels to have to use 26.4. I'm happy for you I'm So Excited Have fun!

I've heard that dial-up is much better now than when I used it. I have cable broadband, and even switching back to phone dsl (it costs half of the cable connection) lasted only a month. It was fast enough, but the connection was too unpredictable and the tech help knew less than I did.

Gosh, you guys, thank you sooo much!! I just can't hardly wait until next Thursday.
Like I said, my dial-up is so much under what it's suppose to be that it takes forever for me to go from one site to the other, or just clicking on one of your threads and waiting for it to pop up, takes a long time.
I know alot of you can understand that.
So, I am counting down the days until next Thursday. The guy also gave me a 1-800 number that has 24 hour support, should I have any questions, so I am confident I will be able to do it.
Thank you guys again, from the bottom of my heart. I knew you would understand how excited I am.
I'm So Excited

Sure, I would be excited too! I was when I clicked the 'connect' button for the first time and I think after your experience with a dial up you'll feel quite similar I'm So Excited I dunno what your speed will be now but with my 512 (and it's considered rather slow this days) the pages load in a second here on PC. Just go to the sites with lots of colorful graphics and videos, see how quickly they load, no more waiting! Let us know how is it ok? Have a nice day! I'm So Excited
