Got all ready to go to my friends tonight for a New Years Eve party. We were heading out the door and since we got new door locks on the doors this week, my husband thought he'd better check to see if he had the right key. So he turned back to go in the house and looked down in the basement.. low and behold 4 inches of water . It rained so heavy here that the ditch is full. And it backed up into the basement because our basin hole was not plugged tight. I tried my best to help .. heck even Heidi came down and walked in that water to help us! lol. She was tip toeing around .. it was too funny. I have a shelving unit by where we were and she got up there and layed down just to be close to us!. It was adorable.. Bless her little heart. My father in law came out to help my husband vac up the water and empty it out. It took awile but its done. I am not in the mood to go to my friends anymore . .. and neither is my husband. I took my dish over there anyways thinking that she was counting on having it. She was sad we wouldnt be there. But understood. Thank goodness for good friends. I am sure if her son didnt have his friends there.. they would have come over to help us.

I just hope this isnt a sign of how the newyear is going to be.. Got a sick feeling in the pit of my stomach it will be ... ugh.

Hope all of you have a peaceful , happy and healthy new year!!

Hugz
Bethy

Oh Bethy,

I am so sorry your basement flooded. I don't know about where you live but where I live, it has been a terrible winter for flooding.
I'm sorry you aren't going out now. I hope you and hubby can have a quiet little celebration though.
I am hoping that starting tomorrow, the sun will be shining and the New Year will be bright for you and your hubby.
Take care,
Linda
