Oh, I'd notice. I haven't spent as much time here over the last few days as I was previously. My energy level, as well as my enthusiasm, seem to wax & wane over time. But PC just feels like a safe place for me to say things I wouldn't say anywhere else on the internet, to people who are interested in & willing to listen to what I have to say.

There'd certainly be a void. Here's where I get to communicate freely with people who share similar struggles. I don't feel ashamed here or afraid that I'll be judged unfairly.

If psychcentral disappeared I would likely get some housework done.

PC is a place to ask for help when I need it AND a place for me to give help when I see a post I feel I can contribute to.

For me, it feels like a safe place to talk to people without much judgement. I can write things here I wouldn't write anywhere else. It's one of the few places to be "heard", except for my support group. But that only meets weekly, LOL. And it's not long enough. PC saved me.

I can also talk to people here that I couldn't/wouldn't in real life.....not that I have anyone to talk to. I guess that's the point....Without PC, there's no one there. My only real life "friend" has been too "busy" to talk to me. I haven't talked to her in almost 6 months, and she knows what I'm going through.

I have been there for HER (of course) countless times, and now that I need her she can't be bothered. I'm getting close to cutting her loose. I have done all the attempts at communication a few months ago. I sent her e-mail, tried calling & got her machine, etc. The ball is in her court now, though I'm doubting she'll sent it back my way, so to speak.

I don't like one-way streets, whether they are literal like the ones you drive on, or these "friendships." Both are disorienting and frustrating to me.

Ive been here almost 10 years.....& PC has been here for me....& I've been here with PC......HOWEVER......

I agree with Yoda.....without PC....I would get more housework done & maybe get all the repairs done around my farm...along with mowing the fields......but loosing this huge chunck out of my life would be horrible. Sometimes I just need a break from work even though it turns into more time than I initially plan.....it's a good break & those are things that we need also.

Connecting with PC friends is huge....have made some awesome acquaintences & FRIENDS here....& that loss would be HUGE.....

That said....I definitely need to be able to control my moderation of all things from PC to the work around my farm & still get to enjoy everything.

I spend 8-16 hours/day on my computer, 95% of that time is reading, so I neglect my household chores quite a bit. Without my PC my house would be spotless again and then I guess I would start reading food labels.

LOL....beats watching TV 24/7 where you have NO interface with the other side & no communications or connections with other people.

Serious? You have fields to mow? How cool. If I had fields to mow you might not ever see me here
Okay... what does PC mean to me? Like glok, I have ambivalence. But I value my friends here and I've met some good friends here. The closest ones I could still email or chat or call. I'd wonder what was going on with the rest. For a while I'd even miss the ones who don't like me
Honestly I'm not sure what it means to me but it means something.

PC is an important social outlet for me and also an excellent source of information.

What does it mean to me? I don't know. I can't find meaning to my life though PC does mean a lot, I just can't put it into words.

I am new to PsychCentral and I have found it very helpful. When I say helpful, it is because of various reasons. First of all, the information is very organised and categoirised which makes it very easy to browse through threads that interest me. Also, information is something I can find elsewhere as well, but what I have noticed is that the support and advice you receive from other members is priceless. It fills the vaccuum we sometimes have in our lives because of lack of physical social contact. Lastly, the forums is very well moderated and general descipline (for isntance, adding trigger icons) is great.

I wish you all a great experience here at the Forum .
Thanks for this!

Yep George H....serious....I own my 10 acre farm in central KY.....about 3 acres are field & the rest woods that come with all the wild animals in this part of the country.......& in the future those fields will be fenced & I will get my horse here from California......then they can mow the grass the natural way & I will be able to retire my lawn tractor....or maybe mow the parts that they don't eat.......always wanted to live in the country.....PC was cool.....7 years ago while I was driving the moving truck across country after leaving my H.....it gave me a check in spot every night.....had my laptop with me & all the motels had wifi connection......it kept me going driving 2100 miles across the us in a medium size moving truck....just me & my dog Leo.
