It was grilled cheese sandwiches that got me through several years of bad anorexia issues.....but I still LOVE grilled cheese sandwiches......& our KY Fudge Company (restaurant) has the best grilled cheese......on french bread....& a combination of cheeses....& SWISS has to be one of them....that is my favorite....& sharp white cheddar is the other.....& no grilled cheese sandwich is complete without a fresh out of the garden sliced tomato.

I like it also with a slice of american....but thinking that Velveeta would be good. I use it to make cheese dip for my chips with peach mango salsa..it melts really good & if you slice a thick slice...what a good melted cheese sandwich that would be.

YUMMMMM thinking of doing that on my BBQ.....I grill everything on my BBQ during the summer.

Velveeta is delicious! But I usually use American cheese, or Swiss, Cheddar or Muenster. Or a combo of them. Sometimes I put goat cheese on it. And cream cheese, just a shmear, makes it extra delicious!

I found it ooey and gooey. It is a bit on the salty side. Perhaps your gf is concerned for her heart health, as they, doctors promote to women? Dunno.
I wouldn't turn my nose up to it, yet, could understand she may have her reasons. (i.e.,past, palate, etc)
Good way, to talk about one another and where food interests or disinterests come from.
Thanks for this!

when i saw the title of this important thread i just had to stop over.

i suppose i am more promiscuous about my cheese choices. i would never want to be relegated to just one. havarti, gouda, provolone, mozzarella, cheddar, hard, soft, sharp, mild.. they all make a grilled cheese sandwich suitable to inspire poetry.

this thread has propelled me into a dream state, for which the only cure is..

cheese.

jeeves, get the carriage ready! we are going grocery shopping!

You know they say that people who dont like velveeta cheese on their grilled cheese are serial killers right? Proceed at your own risk my friend.

If you slap a bunch of cheese between two slices of bread, put butter on both sides and grill it til it's melty, I will eat it. I don't care what kind of cheese it is. I am all for cheese equality.

Well, I was gonna go with the standard Kraft cause I grew up with it (velvetta sliced from the brick on saltines!!! yeahhh baby!!) but then I read Slamjammers post and now....I've gotta try it!!!! That sounds delightful!!

Break up with her over it? Nah...just passive-aggressively make hers with it and say you 'forgot'.

bwahahahahaha
