Twice i suppose. First ended in disaster and the second person can never be mine. But i love them (or in the very least, the 'idea' of them) and have done for years now. My second encounter with love feels very different to the first and i doubt i'll ever feel that strongly towards another person again.
As reckless as it sounds (and probably is) the very thought of the second person is what's keeping me here. It does eats away at me how they'll never know just what they mean to. Still, that's life. I don't hate the situation, love is stronger than hate

Love as in the kind you have in a marriage (Eros)....NONE....even in my 33 year marriage that I am finally getting divorced from (shouldn't have gotten married in the first place)
Love as in caring for friends & special people in my life.......(Agape)...feel that for most of the people who I'm friends with.....not sure I can put a number to that because I have so many special friends in my life now after leaving my H.

Twice. Once 10 years ago, and it broke my heart, and right now, and it's breaking my heart. I am getting up the courage to tell Ed how much I love him, as he is leaving his position as interim pastor at our church and touring Europe for a few months with his son. Then he'll be back as a congregation member. At the very least, I'd hope he'd be flattered.

I've never been in love as far as I'm aware.
I'm sort of curious as to why it's so lop-sided, why some people experience love multiple times and others never get to experience it? Based on the future I want for myself (career-wise at least), there will be little to no chance to ever experience "real" love (I'll experience plenty of "fake" love I suspect) if I haven't already, so it makes it more difficult to move forward. |
