I'm using my temporary 'net until I can get proper 'net again. Had to cancel with my previous ISP (Virgin Media) as they wouldn't transfer it to the new place. ¬_¬ I'm thinking of EE broadband via phone line; anyone know anything about these guys? They any good?
It has been an utter nightmare. I actually ended up a bit ill from exhaustion and dehydration. I was on the go all day, moving furniture from one place to the next, moving furniture around the room, packing and unpacking, etc. x_x It's shared accommodation in a supported housing setup. I'm getting the support needed to help me move on to "independent living". It was really nice, last night, to just sit in my garden and play the guitar. The house (actually, a bungalow) is OK; it's relatively nice. There are some issues, ... the place wasn't exactly clean when I got here, and the oven is still disgusting; hopefully that'll be dealt with. Last night was tough, though. When I got into bed, it hit me how much had changed; I just basically felt like crap, but thankfully slept well because of how exhausted I was. My support worker seems confident I'll be out of here within the minimum time and into a proper council place of my own; so that's pretty damn cool. Hell of an adventure.

If it's a temporary set up (and I'm sure you've took this into consideration), have you established how long the contract for EE would be?
I only ask this as if you're moved onto a council property with the possibility of cable broad band, you might have better access with a different provider... but find yourself stuck in a 2 year contract with EE or something. And surprised virgin messed you around... they were actually quite compliant when we moved house.

Oh, I don't think it's a case of Virgin messing me about, but more of the Internet not being available where I am; I think they just didn't have the rights of the land because BT seems to have taken over where I am.
Yeah, it's temporary, and I've definitely taken that into consideration; this is one of the problems I have at the moment. The contracts are usually at least 12 months. I can do that, but only IF they'll transfer the connection to the next (more permanent) place, but then that place could be anywhere, and so there's no way to know whether I could take the 'net with me, thus ensuring a possible cancellation fee that I'd sooner avoid. I don't think I'm going to get cable here unless it's with BT... it seems like BT is my only hope, but they seem to be useless.. I do not trust anyone who will do work on someone's house, without consent, then charge 800+ quid to take their stuff out. I miss VM. xD I'm fine with a phone line, if needs be, it's just not a great option, because I then have to pay for a completely unnecessary phone line which is usually around £15 line rental, or so I'm seeing. :|

Cockroach infestation, boiler nobody bothered to fix so now I have cold water since I've been here, and the oven is still disgusting.. they say I'm not supposed to clean up other people's mess, but I don't really have a great deal of choice.
