I hate choosing user names and passwords, I was relatively new to the internet and had never been on a site like this....after thinking a while, I decided I'm not to trusting with personal info so I should warn people in advance by telling everyone I sidestep personal stuff. PC however is an amazing place where I have felt relatively at ease with talking about certain issues I could never share in real life.

That said if I were to choose today I would have gone with Tiamat, I love creation stories and the ancient history of mankind.

I picked mine from my favorite movie, The Neverending Story. The Childlike Empress rules Fantasia, the land of human hopes and dreams.

Funny, Seeker, that my brain has always read -> perceived your username 'exactly' as: " seekerseeking". That is how I think of you.

Mine comes from a short story called "Worms of the Earth" by Robert E. Howard.

I, Atla, the were-woman of the moors! What have I known but the lone winds of the fens, the dreary fire of cold sunsets, the whispering of the marsh grasses? – the faces that blink up at me in the waters of the meres, the foot-pad of night – things in the gloom, the glimmer of red eyes, the grisly murmur of nameless beings in the night!
“I am half-human, at least! Have I not known sorrow and yearning and crying wistfulness, and the drear ache of loneliness?

I read the story years ago.

My first impression of her was that she was a survivor in a world where she was loathed, so a part of me identified with her and I have used it ever since.

Within gaming communities that I tend to frequent most people think my name is in reference to an old sega game called 'toejam and earl' but is in fact in reference to the lovely toe lint that accumulates through out the day while wearing socks

Was listening to a Beetles song (
) at the time of trying to think of a name and the lyric 'toe jam football' came up... and I grinned

Austin Powers always made me laugh as a kid, it was his genuine battiness I loved and admired, and that volcanic laugh.

I liked the idea of the fembot because it was something which symbolised a person who seems perfect to society in a physical form on the outside, but on the inside they are ridiculously far from what you'd expect. It kinda reminded me of split personality or something similar, which reflects my own mood and depression issues.

I genuinely love the idea of having nipple guns which shoot little bullets and that quirky 60's/70's hair, woop!

When I am really depressed I feel like I am living at the bottom of a well. So I started a blog called livinginthewell. I needed a username to go with the blog so I chose TheWell.

When I first saw your name I thought of the film 'the ring' (or ringu) which kinda freaked me out hehe. I no longer fear you'll be coming out of my tv set anytime soon

In retrospect you not having seen it is probably good... unless you like horror films. How you chose your name though seems apt and I intend to read your blog soon

I usually go with something that sounds nice. And if happens to have a meaning, even better. That's how Xzahn was born. It's basically random letters that sounds nice (I pronounce it xan or xahn, aka without the z). It accedentally happenеd to sound a bit like the name Alexander. It has Greek origin, but its heavily used in my country, and its one of my favourite names.

Although I like it very much, I usually go with todiros. Mostly styled as ToDiR0S , which doesn't have any meaning but its derived from my family's initials, and it's also the name of my mother's LLC. I often use latin words and phrases too.
Thanks for this!

I can't even remember now. Many years ago I first came up with it for something else, and I liked it because it's not the kind of name anyone else would have. I got so fed up of trying to get any kind of decent name and they'd already been taken, and the only way to get one was by adding a whole bunch of x's, o's, numbers and underscores.

I like how some of you have usernames that reflect something positive

It's also interesting to see what everyone's names mean to them

It hasn't been that long since I first joined; I've since changed my username. The first one reflected how I was feeling at the time and have been feeling for years. I wanted one that would have a deep meaning to me and reflect me but I felt an urgency to choose one so I ended up regretting it. The entire time I had it I hated it and kept coming up with names that meant more to me.

I changed it last month and absolutely love it

Well, I have been dealing with anxiety/depression for close to 30 years. Sometimes I think that things are getting better...and then this black clod comes up and effs up my life again. I've been to a number of therapists, some good, some bad, and tried different meds. Now I've been diagnosed with bipolar, so now I am taking an antidepressant, a mood stabilizer, benzos, and Adderall. It's exhausting being on this not so merry-go round which is why my s/n is "notthisagain".

Fairydustgirl-

I have that picture on my wall and a tapestry bedspread that has the exact same image.

My name came to me because of my love of history. In medieval times, royalty, dukes and lords, etc. kept strict ethics of honor. Marriage was by contract, rather than love. A courtesan was a mistress, and unlike the wife, she was the one most beloved and most beautiful. She would never be called the Lady. I liked the idea of a woman who could be the wife and the most beloved at the same time. Thus, Lady Courtesan.

I was kind of lazy with picking out my username.
I chose it because I'm shy, a poet, and a girl.
Originality FTW! :P
