We can learn to overcome cognitive dissonance and become emotionally congruent. Much of what can be called "cognitive dissonance" is old habits that need to be broken. We can start with simple, small steps such as making an effort to keep our facial expression, vocal tone, and internal emotion the same - i.e., congruent.

That however involves taking the mask off. I kinda like my mask, it protects me from pain.
