I have the head cold from Hades. All the usual cold symptoms plus sleeping most of the day. What really sucks is I just started a week's vacation. Ain't no fair to "waste" vacation being sick.

Bummer ;-(
Try calling Dr. Jack Daniels. A cup of hot tea that's about 50/50 lemonade with a shot of Dr. Jack will fix you up in no time...and you won't remember feeling bad ;-)

Hope you get better soon.

That always seems to happen......it's NOT fair being sick on vacation.....the only time I've been really sick in the last 7 years was when I had planned to go away for 3 days.

I can feel for you though....feels like a waste of good time to just lay in bed being sick when vacation calls to have fun.....but sometimes being in bed is a good option as for me. I have a hard time justifying going to bed & sleep when I have so much to do that sometimes a welcome forced bed rest actually feels good.

Hope you feel better. Now my health flags are raised, that we've caught it from being here being silly, of course. I've a cold, as well.

I'm so sorry you are sick. Have you seen the doctor? I hope you are feeling better soon. I usually spend the first 3 or so days of vacation sick. It stinks.

I slept sitting up on the sofa last night so I could breath. Not the most comfortable to sleep, but better than coughing all night.

I think I'm starting to get a little better. I managed to not sleep all day and actually got a few things done around the house. For once I had the sense to stop whatever I was doing and rest if I started to get tired.

Googley, I haven't been to the doctor. This is a head cold. Docs can't give me anything I can't get over the counter.

Sounds good...yes you're right too, not much docs can do. Dole out a little advice maybe but the basics we all have nailed down from sheer experience. Rest, liquids, food, more rest etc. Colds. Argh! Let's not have another until late 2015...or later! Have a good Thurs. LL.

I'm pretty sure the head cold has morphed into bronchitis based on the racking cough I've got. People keep telling me to go to the doctor. Been down this road so many times before I know what I need to do for myself. I googled bronchitis yesterday and confirmed that it can be handled with OTC meds. This sucks. I know from past experience it will take 4-6 weeks for this to clear up.

okay, end of my whinge....

I've tried that but instead of the lemonade part, I've had a peppermint melted in it. Works like a charm.
I hope you feel better soon.

This is going to be gross ......**** WARNING ***

but if you are coughing up or snotting green or greenish/yellow, you need an antibiotic as it is bacterial and can help at the doctor with an antibiotic; if you are coughing up white or clear or yellow, it is viral, and will have to wait it out with OTCs. If it lingers longer than 1.5-2 weeks, see a doc to make sure it has not turned to pneumonia if it has moved into your chest so they can treat it appropriately. Also, if you have trouble breathing, no matter what you are coughing up, see someone as they can give you something to help with that too. I am in the same boat right now and this is what the doc told me. Hope you feel better soon. ((((LL))))) from a far, don't want to give it back to you if you are better )))))
