Evening meal is supper. Rarely call it dinner.

I use dinner and supper interchangeably UNLESS I am down south with my kin. To keep from confusing them I call our afternoon meal dinner and the evening meal supper.

noon meal is Lunch
Evening meal is dinner (I do refer to it as tea sometimes too - WhaddaYaWanForTea - Its an aussie thing)
and the snack that you eat after dinner is Supper

My Granddad was a fiend for supper. He used it as a second dinner cause we had tea around 5:30 so by 9:30 he was hungry again
Thanks for this!

I call it the same thing I call the noon time meal, and sometimes even the morning meal..

Pizza!!

I have one foot in the US and my other foot in Norway. When in the US, the last meal of the day is supper (occationally followed by "snacking"). When I am in Norway the last meal of the day is "kveldsmat". (occationally followed by "småspising").

I tend to use supper and dinner somewhat interchangeably with a slight preference for dinner.

Noon meal is definitely lunch.

Just curious; what is the evening meal called in the western part of the US, vs. the South, vs. west coast. Are there differences? And in the UK? Differences between the different parts of the UK?

I don't make any significant distinction between dinner and supper for the evening meal.

I grew up knowing them as Breakfast, Lunch & dinner. At work they always called it Lunch hour (even though it was usually more than an hour).

Anyway, now I live alone & sometimes I don't even make my evening meal until between 2-4am.....it's definitely NOT BREAKFAST.....& the food is definitely what I would normally eat for dinner....but it's definitely NOT the time of day when most people even are eating...but usually sleeping.

I just call it eating no matter when or what.....so it doesn't matter.

I tend to call it dinner, but I don't really make a point to have 3 full meals a day. I kind of eat more as I get hungry, though I live with my mom and her boyfriend and sometimes one of them makes dinner so I eat some...otherwise if left to my own devices I mostly just munch throughout the day on various things as I get hungry.

I don't really eat breakfast typically, I am not hungry till more around 'lunch' time so I suppose you could say I eat breakfast like foods for lunch having skipped breakfast.

I do like to have a cup of black tea or coffee(no milk, maybe a bit of lemon if its tea) in the morning and a cigarette, in the evening I either drink green tea or herbal teas without caffeine.

We say Breakfast, Dinner, Tea. Although my boyfriend always says "Breakfast, Lunch, Dinner" so it can get confusing!
