It's my dad's birthday this coming weekend and we'll be going out for a meal. I bought a blouse the other day, and now I'm not sure how to wear it. I'm going to be matching it with a floor-length black suedette skirt. The blouse is white, with circle designs on it also in white, long-sleeved, and ruffled (that is, one of those you have to screw up when you dry them). It's also semi-transparent, and that's where the problem lies. I was planning on wearing a natural-coloured camisole thing under it (which can be clearly seen through the material) but perhaps with that kind of thing I should wear a black camisole cotton top (like summer wear) and leave the blouse unbuttoned? Or not? I'm not sure. I thought when I bought the blouse that the natural-coloured camisole top wouldn't be visible. Any hints then on what to match with it? Clothing question

Being of the past generation, I would wear a white camisole, but a natural colored one would be fine. I would button up the blouse and tuck it in. It's dressier. Clothing question

PS This Sat is my oldest son's birthday! Clothing question

Trust your judgement Silver Queen. We can't see how it looks. Wear it whichever way that makes you feel good. I was going to say natural like September Morning but if it's got lace and everything then it may not look right with the blouse. Can you get a picture uploaded of the two designs? We can really get into then. Clothing question

Alright, I'll try to post pics. The websites of the shops I bought them from don't have them online, so I've taken pics with my mobile phone. They're not great quality, but perhaps they'll help.

Silver, that's a really cool blouse. I kind of like the idea of the black cami under the shirt with the black skirt but with that blouse it might look better out? I don't know-could you wear a black belt cinched at the waist with the shirt out? That may be really cool.

Oooh pretty.....what about a solid color top under the blouse? I can see a dark red cami type top....I also think the natural colored cami would be pretty even if you can see it under the top. The black top would look nice under it too though. I love that skirt, its gorgeous!!! What kind of shoes are you wearing?

Personally i would wear a black shirt underneath and the blouse buttoned half way up....or not at all depending on your figure...and a really nice pair of black high heels

Thanks everyone Clothing question

I'm going to be wearing black ankle boots. The skirt will be so long on me that all that will be seen of the boots is the heels.

I'll buy a black camisole vest tomorrow and then I can try it and see how they look together. They're not expensive so if it doesn't suit, then I can always wear it another time Clothing question

nothemama... I don't have a suede vest, nor have I any idea where to buy one from Clothing question I got the skirt in a sale, so I can't buy any matching items, if there are any, anyway...

I think any of the choices you gave would work, personally. Are you not comfortable with the beige camisole? That's what they are for, to hide what's under them. lol

lol Sky Clothing question

Yes, I am comfortable with it being that colour, but I wasn't sure if it would look best with a different colour, or indeed in a different style Clothing question
