Does anyone else have this problem? I went into the closet tonight to clear out extra clothes. Everything that I considered getting rid of turns out to be something someone wants. Even things that are 4 sizes too small.

So then I tried to consider the idea of who am I and what clothes should I keep based on that. This is a futile exercise! How the **** does a person with DID keep a reasonable wardrobe? I realize that I'm less that pleased to learn that I'm part of a system and that we are all supposed to cooperate and get along. Is there any way to undo knowing about each other????

I just go with the flow..... and as long as the clothing is hip and not offensive I wear them - but they must fit me (the person with the body) - lol.

How do I do it? The same way I have all my life. I have been DID since I was a child right because DID begins in childhood. Its not like suddenly catching a cold and out of no where I suddenly wake up one day and realize I have a variety of clothes in a variety of styles and sizes. Thats always been happening - before I knew I was DID it was happening and after I knew I was DID it was happening. So I just handle it the same way now that I did then. If the clothing is torn I throw it away. If not it goes in my closet instead of in the dresser drawer that way when I am triggered and those separated pieces of memories are replaying and being acted out those outdated clothes from the '70s, '80's and '90's get warn and why not just this past year the hippie look was back in style anyway. Clothing identity crisis from all the therapy work that I have done I know some of the colors and styles that I liked and wore at for example age 16 my favorite color was purple when the memory pieces that are known as Mary was separated. So when I go shopping now while fully aware I try to include that color scheme in todays present fashion stlyes. at age 10 I liked or wore the color black so I include that color in my present shopping.

And no there is no way to "undo" co consciousness. in fact therapists work with clients to gain co consciousness not cause more dissociative situations.
