And by that I mean - someone who likes to sample new things :P

I am probably the perfect consumer - if it's new and remotely appeals, I will try it. If it's in the supermarket and it's a new food item they are doing instore tasting of, I will try and and if it's yummy I'll be 'obliged' to buy it :>

So today I needed water and see 'Fuel' - lime infused with 'kick of caffeine'. Hadn't had morning coffee, and fizzy energy drinks with guarana are generally yuck.

Errrr well, it's possibly the most vile thing I have tasted in months. I assumed that it wouldn't actually TASTE like caffeine - limey caffeine??

Anyway *shudder* ... hehe.

So I guess my questions are:

a) Do YOU like to sample new stuff?
b) What are good / bad experiences?
c) Do you think stuff like 'caffeinated water' is a good idea or just gimmicky?

Are you a New Product Slappa?

I approach those tables with great trepidation!! I do not eat processed foods and it seems they are always offering something cheesy and fatty...... Are you a New Product Slappa?

The drink thing sounds noxious........gimicky to me. My neighbor has Perrier carbonated water "delivered" to his house, weekly, and he keeps me supplied with it........I'm spoiled. Other than that, i'm just a plain ole drinker..... Are you a New Product Slappa?

BUT, Dairy Queen had (last summer) something called "Moo Latta"..........god, it was good. I tried it and never looked back. I probably gained five lbs from them!

Hmmm, I tend to find it's the opposite here - it is usually some new hummousy, chickpea-y, organic-y, nut-y, pesto-y, often organic-y range of dips / spreads. That is a category that has totally taken off here. There is a Moroccan Lentil Spicey one that I really love.

And 'fresh soups'. Or bagels.

Although I recall some really gross looking 'chicken sausage rolls' a while back (YUCK).

Heh I usually drink normal water but I always need the BOTTLE to fill up so I buy them sometimes.

What is Moo Latta exactly?

I never try the new foods that are given out as samples. Pat is right. It's always something totally fatty and probably has tons of preservatives in it.

I don't know what the Moo Latta is, but Dairy Queen has wonderful ice creams, shakes, etc, plus hot dogs, hamburgers, etc. I have actually driven 20 miles just to get a Dairy Queen hot dog.

Do you have hot dogs there, DSF?

Hmmmmm ... our hot dogs are generally a sausage on a stick battered, and dipped in tomato sauce.

I think you mean the bun with the red sausage in it with sauce and mustard? Yup sometimes.

Hmmm weird, it seems everything here is going towards being healthy and organic-y, soooo many products popping up. So it is funny that you guys get all the fatty / preservatives stuff ...

My other vice :>

Luckily my Lancome consultant gives me heaps of trial sizes before i end up buying the product Are you a New Product Slappa?

Having said that, I refuse to spend $120 on a tub of moisturising cream if I do not know how my skin reacts to it, so they kinda have to I guess.

Oh NICE work ... yea I have been using it for years now. I have tried Clarins and Clinique and neither are as suited to my skin.

The mascaras are the BEST. I have Hypnose for night / going out, and Flextencils if I wear it during the day. The eye pencil is foolproof, too.

I have the anti-aging moisturiser (the one that you are supposed to begin before 30 ...) and night cream and eye cream.

It's such a LOVELY brand :> There's some new lip glosses just out that are not sticky like the juicy tubes, tempted to buy one on payday!!!!!!!

GET the new lip stain then!!!!! I have 'Potion of Love'. It is lovely, and you just put a little juicy tube or the ones in the little pot (i don't have one of those) over it if you want to ... It smells divine.

Do you do the Lancome Beauty Club? I get quite good rewards, I find :>

Are you a New Product Slappa? <--- this smiley uses too much blush Are you a New Product Slappa?

I have some of the pots. I want the retractable metal brushes they seem cool. I am not huge on stains nor the all day kind of make up. Can you tell I love make up?

ehehehehe :>

I would never ever put on eye makeup without my brush. It is so fantastic.

The stain isn't a long lasting one, it's just a little bit of colour if you don't want lippy or just gloss.

I don't wear LOTS of makeup, esp every day, but I do love to use nice products.

I also wear Stila, their eye something pencils ... the BEST ... one end is the very soft crayon-y pencil, the other a smudger, and you unscrew it in the middle and there is your eyeshadow.

:>

I have only really tried the eye pencils as can't get them in NZ. Going to stock up in Aus in July though!

It used to be owned by Estee Lauder.

Mac is excellent, have had some great shadows and lipstick colours, Bobbi Brown is always the wrong colours for me sadly (pale skin, dark hair, blue / grey eyes).

Like I said the Stila convertibles are very convenient indeed!

Hehe.

I usually just wear some gloss or stain and some smudgey eyeliner day to day - no foundation. maybe some shadow if I feel like it. If I am meeting clients I will wear foundation and probably a little more eye makeup. Once I wore the Hypnose to work by mistake and I was so conscious of it all day (it is GREAT for sexy lashes).

Oh - I use the Lancome Colour Ideal (formerly Colour ID) as it blends to your own skin tone so well. They have just altered the formula and given it a little pump top to the bottle - SO DAMN GOOD!!!

Yes ... we are junkies ... eheheheheheh :>

I wear foundation if I go out at night or if I have client stuff cos I feel like it makes me look slightly better put together, especially professionally. Ok i am 29 but I think I must look younger if I don't - our drinking age here is 18 and I still get ID'd a LOT buying alcohol. Hehe.

I will also wear it if I haven't been sleeping very well because I always show that in my face / round my eyes.

It is SO good to have nice skin. I was talking to my neighbour this morning and she is this very pretty Russian girl, but she is having a skin crisis at the moment (she was venting and about to go and get new products), and she was like 'As I get older my skin gets more like a teenager's'! poor chicken was rather pissed off ... Apparently it happens to some women in their late 20s / early 30s. Like a delayed adolescence :>

Interesting conversation. I like new things but don't like to be the first one to try anything Are you a New Product Slappa? Lancome used to be my favorite, but then I liked the model mostly, even had my hair done like her (it looked great on me too!) Are you a New Product Slappa? I've moved on to Lauren Hutton.

I haven't worn gloss alone in eons... how long does it stay on and does the color really show?

It depends what one you get ... I have Juicy Tubes and the Fraise is fine / subtle on its own.

At the moment I usually wear this under it though: It is DIVINE.

This is a new gloss that I am thinking about purchasing:
