I would hate to get to the end of my life and feel like I did not go out of my comfort zone to try to express what I came here to express.

Public speaking.

I don't know why.

But don't quote me on this stat - but apparantly Public Speaking ranks in as the Number 1 phobia.

I'd have to find the research to back up what I read about 2 years ago.

I too have a fear of failure and that's one of the reasons why I probably waited so long to get help. Hypomania has an evil way of constantly driving us to succeed but the energy is unsustainable.

So many fears, to name one as the biggest is hard. I'll think on it.

That's a very good thing to worry about. I too would like to make my parents proud.

Hm...I tend to confront my fears rather than avoid them. One of my biggest fears is to be alone, but I make an effort to spend as much time with friends and family as possible and learn to be social.

I am also afraid of pregnancy and being a bad parent. But how am I to face my fears until I am ready to become pregnant? That's a few years away.

I am also afraid of going back to the hospital as a 5150. But I take my medications every day and see a T and psych regularly.

Two biggest fears....

Being homeless again: so hard to come back from, as the struggle to survive was overwhelming, scary, shameful, and so damned hard to make a life worth living.

Being buried alive: likelihood it would happen, slim to none, but to be so out of control and helpless would be hard to accept.

My greatest fear would be to lose my daughter, but the one that plagues me the most is the fear of being broke and destitute, because it is most likely to happen in the near future.

At one time I would've said being alone. Yet, here I am alone and loving it!

Now, my biggest fear is of becoming infirm and not having anyone to advocate to see to it that I receive proper care. To me this is a rational fear. I'm getting older. I was my mother's advocate the last year and a half of her life. She got good care because I was there to make dam good and sure that she got good care. There's no one to do that for me.

My biggest fear is that one day I'll completely lose control and do something to hurt someone. The concept of mental illness is just a terrifying one, that it can actually mess with who you are. I've seen what my situation can do to people firsthand. My father acted just like I do now when he was in his 20's, grew up living the same exact life and handling it in the same exact way and then one day, something kicked in and he did things that people always tell me they "never thought he'd be capable of." I'm terrified that will be me.

For my entire life my biggest fear has always been being arrested for something I didn't do. My fear flashes through me every time I see a police car or a cop or even when I hear a siren coming my way.

The worst thing is I have no basis at all for this fear (that I know of).
Thanks for this!

One fear would be to end up like my mother did where I'm sure she had a mild stroke that messed up her cognitive ability, but then a home care person came in & I caught her abusing my mother & trying to steal her ID. I was there & it took me 5 days to figure out what was going on & try to deal with it but I ended up with PTSD from the situation & my mother had NO idea what was even going on around her.....she had cancer, but I think the blood clots in her legs at one point caused a mild stroke though the MD's refused to even verify it.

One fear I have always had was being accused falsely of something & being arrested for it. Never thought anything like that would happen until the encounter with the home care person who was trying to cover up what she was doing & anonymously called the police telling them that I was the one abusing my mother when it was her that was doing it.....it was a scary situation & something I had already had a fear about before from movies I'd seen in the past about topics like that.

Another fear might be being bit by a brown recluse. There are many around the area so I'm always cautious & I scream whenever I come across a spider because it seems like every one that gets on me ends up biting me even the non-poisonous ones.

Abandonment. After I lost my father at a young age, it's just made me completely terrified of losing everyone else.

My biggest fear is being a disappointment to my daughters and losing their love & support as they grow up: Like I did with my mother, and she did with her mom. I cannot bear the thought of losing them!

I know I don't have a long time to live, I am just to sick but I have a special needs child (well he is 24 soon to be 25) I worry about what is going to happen to him when I am gone and my husband is gone.

So many stupid little fears I can't get over.

A few bigger ones, like being abandoned by everyone I've ever cared about. But that actually happens, so I guess thats not a fear.

It's funny how often I'm asked this very question. I guess i must come across as not being afraid of much. But the thing is, my biggest fear is something immensely private and i always respond that is nobodies business but my own.

I fear my sons will grow up to hate me, cause I'm a depressing person to be around, quick to anger and bat **** crazy.

Also spiders. Cause they are freaky.

Since people are one of my biggest fears, so I am going to say that I hate being misunderstood. Also I wouldn't try to sound funny, smart, cool, etc, in other words I fear people think I am a wannabe (insert any positive adjective here), and at the same time I fear people think I am faking humility. I overthink everything.
