Hmm, seems I was a trend setter and didn't know it! I've been coloring for stress relief for ages. Seems it's a now a cool thing to do.

I used to love coloring, unfortunately my hands shake too bad to any coloring now. I think it is a side effect from medication. I used to draw, too. I miss being able to do things with my hands.

I've seen a few things about this, and various adult colouring books lately. I tried checking out various books online but so far haven't found any that I liked the look of. What do you use for your colouring Liz?

I don't use coloring books designed for adults. I buy ones for kids. Well, I do have one I bought in Ireland that has Celtic designs in it. I suppose it would be too finely detailed for kids.

For the most part I color with crayons. I treated myself to a big box of 94! Some times I use colored pencils to color things too though. Depends on my mood.

I've been coloring with crayons for years too. I'd love to have one of those adult coloring books though.

I colored a lot while inpatient, I do it at home sometimes too. It is relaxing, I would like to get some nice coloring books for my mom and myself, I think they could help us.

I love Disney coloring books, and I keep a few of those really big coloring books around for when my grandson comes to visit. He loves coloring with his Gramz and when we're not doing that, I'm teaching him how to play Zelda on my Nintendo 3DS.

I draw & paint with acrylics......sometimes it would be nice to have the picture already there that I don't have to draw first......the benefit of coloring books....I actually used to do that with colored pencils. They had different selections of nature you could buy in packets.....I did love to do that back when I lived in Ca in my marriage....I desperately needed something like that to ESCAPE......it's definitely relaxing.....I totally LOVE drawing & painting also...but it does take a lot more work to make sure the picture is drawn well before starting to paint....that's WORK not always as much fun.

I have actually thought of getting coloring books...so I can color when I am stressed/bored, but haven't gotten up the nerve to do it. I've been in the psych ward twice and did quite a lot of coloring during that time....and it does seem to somewhat relieve stress, especially since it doesn't take a lot of mental effort like drawing can. Though I probably wouldn't get kiddy coloring books, would probably try and find some with the more intricate pictures and those trippy designs.

I coloured a fair bit when I was IP and found it relaxing. Maybe I should give it a try again.

I thought I was weird.
Now adult coloring books are popular & I've realized a lot of adults color to relieve stress.
I usually sketch then ink an elaborate picture in ink & then color it. All-day relaxation.

Considering getting one of the coloring books.

What's your poison?

I only use prismacolor colored pencils to color.

I only color when I am in the hospital. Its the only thing they let you do other than pointless groups that I've attended a hundred times to make the time go by. Other than that I don't color.

When I first became a manager I would go home from work and ask my roommates daughter if I could color with her, lol. That helped a lot with my anxiety and doubts about whether I could do the job.

I can't walk past a carton of crayons without picking them up and smelling them. Mmmm they smell happy and clean.

I just bought some watercolour pencils......you can draw with them & then use the water to make it into a painting....I'm looking forward to experimenting....bought watercolour paper also & I have some tracing paper if I want to trace a picture onto the watercolour paper.......it's like coloring only painting also...nice combination.
