Hi all, I'm so excited about the costume purchase I made from Spirit Halloween Superstores online. I got the Adult Dorothy plus size costume (plus size because I am plus size) from the Wizard of Oz that comes with the dress and the matching hair bows. I also purchased some stuff that goes with the costume that weren't included with the actual dress and matching hair bows...like the Wizard of Oz Toto in basket, Socks with white ruffles, and the women's red glitter flat shoes. My Fiance is technically paying for it because he is giving me the money I paid for it. So, don't think I'm full of money because I'm not. I'm going to be possibly giving out candy to the kids going trick or treating in my apartment complex downstairs since like no kids come upstairs to trick or treat and I live on the 3rd floor. This will be my first time being Dorothy from Wizard of Oz and I've always dreamed of being her. What are you guys going to be for Halloween? Are you giving out candy?

Angelwngs25, Sounds lovely! I hope you have a wonderful All Hallows' Eve.

I don't get trick or treaters at the house anymore, the kids are all grown and gone, so no candy to pass out. I so miss it. However, we are getting to dress up for Halloween at work, a contest even between the sites and individual costumes and I could sure use y'alls help.

Our site's theme that they picked was the 'holidays', that you can represent any holiday; well, I just love Halloween and cannot imagine doing any other, traditionalist, maybe, but especially with my love of pumpkins, it just has to be Halloween for me. I am also not concerned about this competition, I just think it would be fun to be out of my scrubs. but also don't want to embarrass myself.

However, it is not in the budget to do much and I am SO not very creative, but I am going with what I have, which has started out with a black witches hat and black broomstick; it may be boring but it is something I have on hand. So I am going with being a witch of some kind, perhaps just a cute Halloween witch. However by going as a witch, not meaning any offense to Wiccans, this is not my intent, please forgive me if I have offended.

In addition to the hat and broomstick, I found the cutest hand blown glass jar pin that looks like it has potion in it but it has a frog on it with a black hat on that matches mine. I have pumpkin earrings, pumpkin necklace, a big spider/bat and/or pumpkin charm bracelets for each wrist. I have some boots that are perfect.

Just not sure what to wear. I could go all black (black top or long black layered skirt) or I have a tied-died long skirt that is black/gray/white that looks almost like it has spider webs with a black top. What do y'all think?

Any other inexpensive ideas to add? Does this sound dorky or will it be ok to represent a Halloween witch?

I'm 48 and still dress up and even hit my neighbours to trick or treat. Mind you I have always made costumes, but then again my mother was a set and costume designer. I grew up then with Halloween being the biggest day of the year.

As usual I will dress up as "Steve"

Are you dressing up for Halloween and if so what are you going to be?

I think the tied-died long skirt that is black/gray/white that looks almost like it has spider webs with a black top is a great idea. You should do that, it would be totally cute. I wish I had the bracelets, necklaces and earings. If I did I would be totally wearing that myself possibly. But I don't so I bought a costume with my Fiance's help financially. Hope you win!

I'm dressing up as a someone from the 1920s. My outfit will be based off one I saw Clara Bow wear in the film "It". I'm not sure where I'll be or what I'll be doing on Halloween, but I at least know what I'll look like.

Not dressing up. I have to say I've never understood the point of Halloween.

The husband and I turn off all the lights, hide in a back room and watch scary movies as we eat the candy that we would be giving out. It sounds nuts but it's actually something we've been doing ever since the kids (who are now young men) got too old to trick or treat.
