I've been battling an upper respiratory infection all week. It's winning.

I gave in and called for an appointment with the doc tomorrow. I think it's morphing into bronchitis.

I'm glad you're going to see a doctor. Constant coughing plus fibromyalgia equals exhausting pain.

I had to go to the doctor last week. It was an acute sinus infection...non-stop coughing, aches, awful...amazing what a weeks worth of meds will do. (2 pills left) And, they are the size of a grape!
Thanks for this!

Thanks everyone. Yep, spending most of my time curled up on the sofa with my heated throw, drinking hot drinks (forgot to add the "toddy" to the tea last night). Mikey is enjoying my illness. He loves any excuse to cuddle up on the sofa. No Disney channel since I don't have cable. Also can't wear my glasses to see the TV across the room. I've been reading nice, light, mindless books.

Saw the doc this afternoon. It was funny I had to walk past her to get to the scale so the nurse could weigh me. I was having a coughing fit as I walked by. She looked up and said "sounds like bad bronchitis". They got my vitals. She had a listen to my lungs. Again a coughing fit while she listened. Yep, it's bronchitis. She gave me scripts for steroids, an antibiotic and an inhaler.

I about lost it at the pharmacy. When I dropped the scripts off the girl behind the counter spoke limited English. I can barely speak and I had to keep repeating myself for her. Then she tells me it will be an hour wait! Okay, I'll do some shopping and come back. I came back in an hour. Yep, the scripts were ready, but the clerk had entered something wrong in the computer so the Pharmacist had to fix that. Then my insurance refused to pay for one of the scripts because the doc had written the script for a particular drug. The pharmacist wanted to know if I wanted to wait until she could contact the doctor to straighten it out. It was 7PM on a Friday!!!! The med is the inhaler I need to be able to start breathing. I'm leaning on the pharmacy counter wheezing like a broken down freight train and she wants to know if I want to wait until Monday?!?!?!? I told them to ring it up and paid full price. At least I had the money to be able to pay for it.

Liz keep the receipt and call the doctors office on Monday and have the pharmacy rerun it. I have had that happen to me before. It was for an antibiotic for my son he was 3 at the time and very sick. Anyway I was told the med was not covered by our insurance. It was an antibiotic for god's sake. I told them to fill it and I paid full price. Later when it was not busy and not a Friday I went back they reran it and gave me a refund.

It's sad what if you did not have the money ? At the time it was just me and my son and my grandparents helped me out a lot. When the daycare called and said he was sick my boss gave me money to pay his copay and any medicine he needed. I always paid her back on payday but still it sucks

Take good care of yourself
