I have a huge problem when it comes to jigsaw puzzles. I can't stop putting one together when I start on it. It's an obsession I think.

For some reason I stopped for two years.

Yeah, there something soothing about arranging the pieces and building one color at a time.

It is soothing, and for some odd reason, I find myself having to finish the puzzle, sleep and hunger be damned. I will take bathroom breaks however. I am not going to be so obsessed that I won't.

Artchic528,

I build the border first, but always seem to start at the bottom right hand corner.

I do too, BlueKoi. It's how my dad taught me to start a puzzle.

My grandma used to have us kids help her with puzzles. The was to do them was frame first and then the right corner on bottom. Then my kids did them with her. Funny that my mother-in-law was devoted to puzzles, especially those of Wysocki's (sp) artwork.

Have fun with that puzzle.

Sometimes I do jigsaw puzzles online. If anyone wants to...they have some good ones on jigsawpuzzles.com or you could try googling jigsaw puzzles.

I can't put together "real" jigsaw puzzles because the cats scatter the pieces all over the house. Like RainbowInTheDark, I do them on line. Another good site for them is

Free Online Jigsaw Puzzles

I have a puzzle board with raised edges that is covered in felt. A piece of cardboard fits inside the edges. This was done because the cat loves to steal pieces and shove them under the refrigerator or the stove, etc!

Nothing like a cat burglar stealing those puzzle pieces.

Yeah, the pieces don't fit so well once they have been chewed on by the cat! Another favorite place is to push the pieces into the heating vents!

My vents are in the ceiling. Be scary if the devils could get them up there!

Sorry for going off topic, but this reminded me of something funny from when I was a kid. The air return for the furnace was in the living room floor. One of my chores was to take the cover off every couple of weeks and collect asll the stuff the cat dumped down the grate.

Here's a good site I found long ago. You can choose how many pieces you want and you can even make a picture of your own into a puzzle.

Free Jigsaw Puzzles - Jigsaw Puzzle Games at TheJigsawPuzzles.com - Play Free Online Jigsaw Puzzles

I haven't done any for quite a while but now you guys have re-ignited me. lol
I always start at the top and work my way to the bottom.
Have fun!
