I assume all my friends on my friends list would stay but what about my old posts or pm's?

What about my old posts?? Would they change to my new screen name?

Question I really have is... Would YOU change your screen name of you were me? I've used RXqueen in my past like 12 years ago in highschool because it's a song title of my favorite band, the deftones. And it's
AlWays fit since my many MI diagnosis's and meds I take for it. When I'm on PC, I don't hold ANYTHING back. I lay it all out there. I'm bipolar, eating disorder, PTSD from childhood trauma, BPD and the list goes on. And it's not a secret in my real life. The only people that would connect me to this name is like 2 ex's who already know these things and my current bf. But I'm worried that one of them may Google me and be lead to PC. Where all my life is out there. And if they have bad intentions (no reason they would now) they could point out what my crazy *** is saying these days. So should I change my screen name for those reasons? However if it doesn't change my screen names in older posts I don't see what the point is.

That is a problem with online forums. Being honest and being anonymous.

If it's safer, why not. I tend to tell everything in my life, and NO ONE knows about them. If "my people" discovered anything about me, my life would be ruined basically.

Yea I mentioned something on here (about one sentence long) just once that I'm not even ready to talk with a t about. I'm not mad that I did. I'm a lot more comfortable here. But I do mention my current relationship quite a bit. And my bf does know my screen name because he saw when I was on my phone. I'm not worried because he never was one to snoop. But then... What if?! I mean, I'd be pissed if I were him! So that's another reason. But if it's not going to change to my new name on my old posts then there's no point in changing it at all. I've been on here and posted a lot for awhile now. So it aaallll out there now!

But what if someone that I'm not aware of knows I go by this and googles and comes across this site. Omg! Screw facebook, PC is where it's all at! Lol. This is something I should of really put thought into when I signed up here instead of using a familiar name

The ones I posted in the BP forum? I'm not worried about those. Or my BP. I've been out of that closet for awhile now lol. As long as my face isn't showing!

So no one knows if my name will change on my old posts too??? Maybe there's a mod out there than can help here?? And I take it I can't change it on tapatalk? I'd imagine a mod would have to change my name for me?

Edit: there's an option to change it on tapatalk but I doubt that works for the whole forum

Changing your screen name will change the name displayed beside all of your old posts.... however, if someone has quoted you in the past, then the quote in their post will still contain your old username, which if followed back will go to the old post with your new username. I'm pretty sure that'd still show up in Google too.

I feel your pain on the anonymity front. I've made the mistake in the past on another forum, albeit in a much more subtle way. Unfortunately I was just a bit naïve & there is little to do about it now...

From a personal perspective, I think that although I'd prefer certain things be private, I know if someone found out, it really wouldn't be the end of the world. I think sometimes it can be easy to blow these "what ifs" out of proportion.

Although I completely understand that is different for everyone.

Oh and you are allowed to change your username once on PC:

Members can change their username once and only once with no explanation or special permission needed. Simply send a private message (PM) to one of the site's administrators (not DocJohn). Member names have to conform to our community guidelines, be between 4 and 19 characters in length, and not already taken by an existing user. We allow only one username change per individual.

Edit to add: you might want to post sensitive personal topics in Premier Poohbah Forum. If someone does a google search they will not find anything posted there.
