What is your favorite perfume/cologne? Why is it your favorite?

I am one of those people who owns a fragrance for every occasion and emotion. I have a few that I go to on a regular basis, though. Obsession by Calvin Klein is one of them. At the time of my birth, all of my sisters were teenagers. I was thrown head-first into 1980's pop-culture. Obsession was introduced that year and my sisters were all faithful wearers. Because of this the scent has played a part in my life since I was a few days old. It is comfort-in-a-bottle . Not only does it bring comfort, it imparts a sense of confidence. Obsession is a scent I would choose for myself even if it hadn't played a part of my childhood.

My fav is Dolce & Gabbana Light Blue. It is a citrus type scent and not too strong.

I love Anais Anais - I wore it for my wedding. Very expensive for me but I've bought a few bottles over the years

That his been a favorite of mine since high school...late '80's

I love oils - Egyptian Musk as well as White Musk from the Body Shop.

These all have many memories for me as well, and are forever mainstays.

I love a nice perfume. Anais anais and Musk from the body shop are on my shelf. I tried Light Blue lovely smell but it was it gave me a headache. Gingham from Innoxa is a wonderful citrus perfume. It is amazing how these fragrances can transport us back to the past and remind us of loved ones when we can smell them in the air. 4711 reminds me of my mum and the summer time.

Hawaiian Ginger by Calgon? Oh mi gosh...that takes me straight back to Summer of 1998, when my best friend at the time wore this daily. That was 18 years ago. Thinking about that much time passing since I was 13 makes my mind reel.

Obsession is my main favourite, but I also like Opium, don't remember who makes it. Alas, I visit so many buildings that are scent free these days, that I don't have a chance to wear perfume.

I never used to like wearing perfume, but a couple years ago I discovered Euphoria by Calvin Klein and I fell in love. I don't wear it often, but I like to use it for special occasions

On men I grew up loving Stetson cologne because my dad wore it. I used to buy him a bottle every year My bf uses Old Spice Pure Sport, that's my favorite now. I have used his body wash on occasion, when I really missed him 😶

I'm making a list of everyone's favorites so I can sniff these next time I go to Ulta.

Do you like Jo Malone fragrances? They're quite pricey but so nice. I used to work at a major department store. I was always spritzin myself with all of the different scents. It's encouraged to layer their scents and have your own personal scent. Alas... They do not have them at Ulta.

I'm going to have to find the picture of my perfume shelf/ take another one tomorrow. If I won the lottery I'd have a whole room just for perfume, my partner and I are obsessed with it. The smells make me feel better, especially when I have good memories associated with different perfumes. It's not Christmas or birthday without a new perfume and a new pair of pyjamas in our family Perfumes

Right now I'm sad that I have no more Lacoste touch of pink, because it's my holiday perfume. And I'm not going abroad this year :-( so I need my holiday smell

My husband's favorite fragrance on me is Pheromone. It smells differently depending on the wearer. It is so not overwhelming, you won't smell it at all if you aren't within a couple of feet from me. (I guess that is about a meter, not sure) And the scent is still light.

Tsukiko, I wasn't allowed to wear perfume when I was 13 (44 years ago!)

But at 15, when I began dating my husband, I wore a perfume called ME! Same claim of smelling different on individuals. My husband (bf at the time) liked that one too. Maybe he just likes MY smell? tee hee.

Oh I adore pheromone! But I can't wear it, it smells bad on me. For awhile I was spraying it on little cloths I'd bring with me, or sachets. I just love the fragrance.
Thanks for this!

I love Obsession. Haven't smelled it in a long time. I wore Anais Anais when I was in high school. Loved it.

As ridiculous as this is going to sound, Justin Bieber's "The Key" is my favorite. It just smells so good and goes with everything. I also recently got a Victoria's Secret one for free that I'm really liking. It's called "Fabulous" and it's so light and fresh smelling!

Avroy Schlain (don't know if this brand is only South African or not) have a perfume called Endangered. I wore this for my first wedding. I adored it. But the smell stayed with me long after my divorce. It's been almost 20 years now - and I finally bought a bottle and am able to wear it again. (I save the Anais Anais for really special occasions)

Red Promisa by Sonia Kashuk .. The only perfume I have actually liked in probably a decade. Only available at Target and she stopped making it ..

I have half a bottle left and it makes me really sad

If you want to smell a number or perfumes around the same time you may find that your nose may be overwhelmed and you wont be able to differentiate between them beyond the first few. In order to beat this take a dry tea bag with you. In between sniffing the perfumes sniff the dry tea bag. Doing this seems to refresh your ability to smell.

I haven't tried out a lot of perfumes. I do like Sunflowers by Elizabeth Arden though, that was one of my mom's favorites.
