Since hot air rises, if it's not too uncomfortable, it would be the coolest to stick near the floor!
![]() I'm not saying sleep on the floor but if there's a way to make it comfortable, it WILL be a few degrees cooler near the floor. I've done it so I know.....but thankfully not too often. ![]()

Also my house is several stories high + a basement.....if my basement had less bugs it would be a perfect place to hang out in the hot weather....it's nice also because it's a walk out basement with 2 huge sliding doors going into the overgrown back yard
I sleep in the upstairs & my computer room is upstairs.....& like nonightowl says....hot air rises.....so it's definitely hotter where I live than in the rest of my house. Oh yes, I forgot to say, that ceiling fans have a switch that reverses the direction of the blades. One goes upward for winter & then the summer goes downward to stir up the air around the room. I had forgotten that I had switched my fan in my bedroom last winter & for the life of me I couldn't figure out why I wasn't feeling the wind from the fan until the lightbulb went on in my head about the switch. I stopped the fan, switched the switch & have been comfortable every since......ah, if my brain worked 100 %, 100% of the time I would be so much better off. Now on the hot days, my dogs & I sprawl out on my bed & enjoy the cooler air blowing down on us.
