So I am flying for my first time in 9 days here. Going on vacation by myself. I'd like to ask you guys what kind of tips do you have for flying. This can be about anything. From calming your nerves to packing..to what to take to the beach. I'd appreciate it much. This is my first time to see the ocean too. Not sure about them Jellyfish lol... Flying & Vacation Tips or other creatures of the sea lol.

Check out this site: http://www.tsa.gov/travelers/index.shtm

I travel a lot. Mostly internationally, but these tips should help.

Get to the airport early. Its better to sit around then be rushed. I've stood in security lines before for 2 hours.

Make sure you know all of the rules as to what you can and can't carry. They are VERY picky. I had one throw out all of my liquids simply because it was in the wrong size plastic bag.

If you are checking a bag just check all of your liquids. If you aren't its best to buy things like shampoo once you get where you are going.

If you get pulled asside in the security line be helpful and do what they ask. Unless you fit their profile it will be pretty quick.

Take your shoes off even if you don't think it will set off the alarm. I find if I don't take them off they pull me asside more often.

Make sure your purse and carryon are organized. It will be easier if they do a search. If you are carrying on medication make sure they are in the original bottles with your name.

Don't lock your luggage and don't leave it unattended anywhere (not even for a second).

For the plane, bring hard candy or gum for take off and landing so help with the ear pressure.

You shouldn't have any trouble with a short in country flight. You will be just fine.

All of the safety stuff seems a little overwhelming but it actually makes you feel safer.
