Hi Friends,
I can't believe my summer vacation is over, and my two "live" classes start tomorrow. That's six hours of teaching  on top of my 3+ hour commute (both ways). Plus I can't teach in my nightie, like I do for the online class I teach. I have to get my good clothes on! Thankfully, my Talbots order arrived just in time. When is everybody else going back? Right about now I'm wondering why I thought I could teach two "live" classes.  EJ |

School starts here Sept 4th.
I can not believe you have a 3 hour commute one way!  and I complained at the thought of a commute of 1 1/2hours one way....geez.....my  of to you....snow

I went back to school on Monday. I am taking 3 classes this semester. Advanced Spreadsheet, HTML and Professional Development. I think the HTML class will be fun and the other 2 interesting. I had to go up to the board today in my Spreadsheet class and write an error message you might see on a spreadsheet and for the life of me I couldn't remember one. Sheesh the last spreadsheet class I had was back in May I've slept since then LOL.

I've been at new teacher stuff for a week. I have meetings for the next week and a half and the kids come September 4th.
First year jitters all around.

September 4th is my first day in a graduate program for an MA. I got my BA in 1998 so it's been a while and I know grad school is different.
So I'm completely unsure of what to expect, both because I haven't been in school for so long and because it's grad school this time. Plus it's a blended format - online plus one weekend on campus a month (9a-6p Sa & Su) which is only 45min away.

No my commute is 1 1/2 hours plus one way. Is that how far you drive too? One Day at a Time, I'm definitely suffering from the pre-school jitters. EJ |

oh...whew...ok. I used to drive 20 mins one way...but lost my job there. I was going to accept a position that was 1 1/2 hour one way drive but a job about 10 mins from my home came up and I got it!!! YAY YAY YAY....I love the drive now...

I started college for the first time Monday. that is..the 20th of August. Its so exciting. i've only been going for 3 days now, but i can tell its going to be a lot of work. im going as a full time student and working 30 hours a week! tomorrow im going to ask my boss to decrease my hours at work. because school comes first. but its great. i love college so far!

I once got mixed up on when the first day of class was and had to beg to be let back into a class because of it. But everything worked out ok.

I do online classes and they "let us in" to the classroom next Tuesday, the 28th, but classes don't formally start until the 4th. I still don't know if I'm going to continue; I want to see the syllabus for each class; I bought the books and have looked at them some.
My physical therapist finally said I have "thoracic outlet syndrome" (phrase for your arm/shoulder really hurts and they have no clue :-) so I still don't know if I can study as much as I'd like (or if I'd like to as much as I should). I did get an additional plug for my outlet so I can sit here in my easy chair instead of in the hard chair at the table (where my head posture isn't right which aggrevates the problem). Too, my husband is worried about our finances at the moment so paying for a couple grad school classes now isn't exactly what he wants to do. I did give my car to our daughter-in-law and they sold her old car for about what this semester will cost. . .

WHAT??? Am I an eternal student? LOL I did just take a new safe driver's course (now to notify my insurance company for that discount!)
