For myself...I try to be a ghost on FB...if anything, I post a meme here or there, primarily I use it as a means of communication with friends scattered to the four winds.
I do see how some people use it as a soapbox, and some use it for self aggrandizement' I'm getting tired of it because of all the hate and anger I see... |

Really hurting right now. I leant via facebook that my ex (my son's step-dad) will be attending my son's university convocation. I haven't been invited. Really crappy and a royally ****** way to find out.

Yeah. Facebook can feel like a fist coming through the screen, and knocking you out cold. It really does hurt.

No. Most of the so called trouble makers on facebook are just there to start crap. I just give it right back to them and they all just give up after a period of time. I won`t back down from my beliefs, my President and my Southern Heritage!

I've always preferred forums to Facebook, but it appears more people use social media now than they do message boards. Many of the forums I like to visit are a boneyard now, minus a few 'regulars' who still post. Other than that, the communities are almost lifeless. Many of them used to be linked to official websites too, but many of them are gone, and for whatever reason, they retained the forums. Besides, you can now leave posts underneath news articles. There will come a day when nobody will be installing IPB, vBulletin, XenForo or that any longer.

Ever since I got a phone which has no Facebook, my usage of Facebook has sharply decreased!
Remember those happy selfies and beautiful photos are nothing but very momentary vibes, not the whole picture. |
