Anyone here enjoy baseball? My favorite team is the New York Mets. I like watching games and reading about it and looking at statistics and stuff. I also collect baseball stuff.

I admit that I do love the smell of a new baseball, or the musty smell of leather off of a baseball mitt. I also enjoy hearing the crack of a bat as it hits the ball and it flies off toward the outfield. I must state that I don't play baseball or am remotely athletic, but my dad used to play softball for his company's softball team back in the day and we had mitts and softballs laying around the house. Yes, I would smell softballs and mitts from time to time. I was a very odd child.

With that said, I can somewhat enjoy watching baseball too. Stats I'm not to well versed in, so they don't hold much meaning to me. I do know more in the way of baseball terminology. Triples, doubles and homeruns are pretty simple to understand. I can watch a game on TV and follow it, and even enjoy it.

I watched last years World Series and was cheering for the Cubs. I'm glad they finally overcame their curse and won. I was on the edge of my seat as the game was tied at the end of the 9th, and went into a tenth inning. When the Cubs finally won, I cheered, albeit softly, as it was way late and people were trying to sleep in my house.

My favorite teams are the Minnesota Twins, as I'm from Minnesota, and the Boston Red Sox.

I love baseball! I'm a tremendous San Francisco Giants fan. In fact, my kids took me to a Giants game on Mother's Day and it was a blast!

Way back in the early 1940's my dad was drafted to pitch for the NY Yankees, but then he was drafted into WWII. He became a pilot in the air force, which he was very proud of, but he always wondered what would have happened if he'd had the opportunity to be a major league pitcher

I am not a huge fan of the game but I always enjoyed playing it as a kid.
I am a N.Y. Yankees fan.

i'm not really a sports fan of any kind (well, WWE sometimes)

of course i'm in england, so we don't really get much (any) baseball on tv.

though I did start watching brocmire about the baseball coach.

people had been saying it's good, and I agree.. it is rather funny.
Thanks for this!
