I was at work today and I was talking to this lady. ( I probably should tell you I recently relocated to AZ from out of state). Anyhow when we were finished with our business conversation she said, "You're from Minnesota aren't you?" and I said, "I AM!, how did you know? " and she replied, "Because you said 'ABOOT'". 100% true story!

I get told I sound American all the time - drives me slightly nuts.

You can't miss MN/WI accents if you aren't accustomed to hearing them on a regular basis. They're pretty distinctive.

Mine is a combination of Kansas, Missouri and Wisconsin, so nobody ever places it! LOL Accents
