Something about hotels. But I don't remember exactly what because I'm more interested in the gags about the other people in the commercial.

Sorry, was that obvious?
Thanks for this!

I just wanted to add that I love the idea for this thread.

However, I couldn't think of anything offhand that was interesting or not a downer. So I guess I could answer that I'm avoiding my issues today. But he'd think of a funnier way to say it.

Help Captain! We need you.
Thanks for this!

Lol I actually did think of that commercial when I said "captain obvious". The couple is sitting on the couch surrounded by garbage and looks like they haven't bathed in ages because they just binged watched 10 seasons of something...then captain says something along the lines of, "binge watching is never a good idea. Trivago hotels is always a good idea." "Thanks Captain obvious, how long have you been here?
Thanks for this!

Captain Obvious points out the sheer lack of common sense you occasionally see in others, like:

I am leaving for a camping trip shortly and I am brought to recall the frequency with which I see people struggling to put up a tent straight out of the box. You'd think it would have occurred to them to have done a dry run before heading out. Similarly I've had to lend people cannisters of fuel because it didn't occur to them their camp stove would need one. You would have thought that would have been obvious. And I've had to teach people to build a fire because they didn't realise you can't start a log on fire with a lighter. Shouldn't finding some kindling be clearly obvious?

Okay, so I had a bit of a brain freeze myself recently. I scratched my head over and over because my DVD player wasn't working. My son came over, pulled out the HDMI cable from the android box and plugged in the DVD. Smack the forehead. d'uh.

I've recalled another. I had to point out to someone struggling that you sit backwards in a row boat.

Some people sometimes tell me how to do something when I obviously already know how to do it and other times people may tell me to do something I already did or in the process of doing. Kind of annoying at times.

My personal Captain Obvious takes credit for all the stuff that I originally informed him about. He behaves as if he came up with it all; everything GOOD comes from him. Like I have no intelligence, and no original thoughts.

Sheesh.

Let's put it this way: If I hadn't taught him 95% of everything he knows about antiques/collecting/selling, he wouldn't be able to enjoy his weekends out at the flea market with his pals, at all.

***Sigh***

My personal Captain Obvious likes to point out what food we are out of, how many dishes need washing, clothes that need to be laundered, etc.

Thanks, Captain Obvious. Ever thought of grabbing a dish sponge?, a shopping cart?, a load of whites?

lololol *gasp* *snort* lololol
*Wipes eyes* Omg. Thank you for that!

There is an entire flockin' battalion of those particular Captains, imo.
heh Yeah.
There's one at my house, too.

Question:
Why are most of them prone to behaviour that would shame an 8-yr-old?

Grim, huh?

Hugs,

Chyia (a.k.a "Wow You're really tall!" "Oh! You're a Southerner!" "Oh my, your hair is so long!"
Good grief)
