Everyone is so quiet on Facebook now. I think I got on there in 2008, found my high school friends, found my coworkers. We used to post there all the time. Now everyone is so quiet. If I post something, maybe 2-3 people will click like. Sometimes more. I have two friends that regularly post, one is posting for followers I think that is work related, and some that sporadically post. It is just so inactive compared to years ago. I really miss people.
Is this what you find too? |

I don't have many likes on any of my posts anymore, maybe just a few... but that's also because I culled down my friend's list by a LOT a while back... it was such a stupid spur of the moment decision and I still regret it.

Plus, sooner or later, there will be another big social media site that everyone will use.

I'm over 40 and Facebook is still very active for me. I'm also a member of a lot of groups on Facebook so that could be part of it too.

It is still active, but was actually down for a few hours today and there was a major worldwide outage so it's probably why no one was on.

I've found this too! I'm 32. Now that my group is older I think we're more careful about what we post personally. More reserved about it. And facebook has an algorithm now about who they show what posts to depending on your activity and their activity. Everyone might not even be seeing your posts.
I just started a facebook page for my blog yesterday. It's www.facebook.com/winterbritt.blog You can talk to me. I don't have a single like yet!

Yes. I also culled down my Facebook friends with the intent of getting rid of it... but I can't because some people it is the only way to get in touch with.
I had about 100 friends about 50 co workers. We had a social media policy where we weren't to post anything that would give away where we worked. And one day I posted something that I was sooo proud of, but, could have, if people were super in the know, given away where I worked... and the NEXT day I got a warning at work. This also annoys me because my page is private so only friends would have seen it. Someone clearly couldn't wait to narc on me. So they all went bye bye. |

Yes FB , had a bunch of "friends" I had never even met . Just seemed so false in the end . Spending all my time portraying an image of myself that rarely exists . Think it was actually making my mental state worse . I punched out . For me I feel better for doing that . I don't do friends of any kind , I have interactions in my day to day life , work based social intercourse , but don't crave the company of too many others . Like the simplicity of not interacting with "friends" when I have my few minutes of off time . Many love it and thrive in that edited internet life . Which of course is great . Different things work for different people .
