@Michael2Wolves, how are you? I've had a tough week so far. Mostly, I've had someone questioning the core of my morality structure. That's difficult, but I'm not so attached to it that I will break if I cannot publicly defend my own honor. It just isn't worth it and it seems like another lesson in humility for me. Thanks for letting me dump that here. You've been a good friend.

I'm hoping you're well, and sending supportive vibes either way.

this sounds like a fun place, so I thought I'd just jump in and see what's going on here. I'm really REALLY new to the community, so please forgive me if I say something stupid, which certainly wouldn't be the first time I've done such a thing.

@fern46 That's why this is a CANTINA, not a cafe. lol You are always welcome to dump in here. To quote the ineffable Mr. Carey, "Oh, you hate your job? Why didn't you say so? There's a support group for that. It's called everybody, and they meet at the bar."

And welcome to the madhouse, @prettymccute. This was supposed to be a lobby-like splash pad for people to hang out and talk about anything they like. I just happened to be a self-taught graphic artist with a Star Wars obsession. lol

Well, it's near the Christmas holiday, so eggnog and rum it is! :P

I've managed to get ahold of Richard Chasemore, one of the artists behind the original Cross-Sections book, and he messaged me just to let me know it was Hans Jenssen I needed to talk to about the Consular-Class cruiser. D'oh!

I've also accumulated a hoard of toilet paper and ramen noodles. I'm prepared for anything. I've got enough toilet paper to last six months. lmao Cups O' Noodles, too. Just wish I could find the California Vegetable flavor...

It is really great to hear you're doing well, and that you're well stocked! I bought some Ramen on my last outing. Just in case...ya know.

It is very cool that Chasemore pointed you in the right direction. I'm glad to know someone in the Star Wars community was ego stable enough to do you a solid. I am excited to hear where this leads. Your renderings are truly fabulous!.

My husband, my brother and my mom usually handle all of the eggnog. It has been a while since I have hit the rum, but perhaps it's time to go back to the classics I needed some fun. Thanks!

California Vegetable is one of the best flavors! Not spicy, not too salty. I should make a shirt with a picture of a ramen noodle pack on the back with WHAT FLAVOR ARE YOU? on it and on the front it says, BODY BY RAMEN. lmao Yeah, unfortunately, Jenssen doesn't seem to be on fakebook, and I don't think my contact email went through to him. Still, I need those notes to figure out what he was intending.

I have to pursue this a bit. There's a UK number, but I'd like to find an actual email rather than using their Contact Us page.

For us, during New Year's, its Grasshoppers, not rum. lol

You need to get on this Ramen T-shirt idea. It would be a big seller 😂

So much to do and learn, so few years to do it in.

Just have to get the license from Maruchan. I wonder if I could pay them in UPCs from their noodle packs...? *gazes at closet packed completely full of empty wrappers*

I used to make this one hookup with ramen. Two packs of ramen, smashed up a bit, one flavor pack, one strip of squeeze cheese (jalapeńo), a half a bag of dried refried beans and rice, and a small summer sausage diced up. Served with tortilla chips. lmao

Burritos were worse. I'd use three strips of squeeze cheese (the length of the rectangular bowl), four packs and two flavor packs, a whole bag of refried beans and rice, a bag of rice, a bag of bbq beef (this crap was all foil-bagged where I was) drained and rinsed black beans (to get rid of the salt--1800mg my backside), a whole summer sausage, and served on tortillas with habańero cheese and onion dip spread on them, and topped with diced yellow peppers. Scooby-Snax™ Burritos, cooked to perfection, sealed in a ziplock in a sterile garbage can full of water, boiled with a stinger made from the AC cable of a electric razor. Rofl

Who wants some burritos?! 😂

But they were soooooo good! If you ate two of them, you weren't moving for an hour. Each one weighed like a pound. lol The onion dip seemed to smooth the taste and bite of the habanero cheese.

OOOoo Star Wars! doesn't get any better. I haven't read back posts, but is there a particular era of that fantastic show? There are so many, from the original to the recent movies they've come out with.

And I recall an awesome Cantina on one of them. Was that the famous Blue Nebula?

On the subject of drinks, I would have a kamikaze, though I know I would say something REALLY stupid then.
Thanks for this!

I recall a blue volcano was a drink from my halcyon days as a student. After one of those you could dance rock and roll very very well. Does the blue nebula carry those? They come in a volcano glass with a ring of fire in the moat. One is all it takes.

The only Star Wars era that matters--the Expanded Universe! lol Thrawn forever!

We also have grasshoppers on tap. Mmm...creme de menthe and ice cream...ooof...

Been distracted working on my latest project, Docking Bay 94, only, a high-res, color version since none seem existent online...

The Blue Nebula Cantina

And California Vegetable is too a thing! :P

Just jumping on to say hello and send best wishes to all this holiday season. I hope everyone has enough toilet paper and backup supplies. I noticed someone mention a drink that was a "blast from the past", so I thought I'd share mine. SOOOOO, you have a Cuisinart', fill it with ice, then add half a can of frozen lime juice concentrate, and then fill all the voids with Tanqueray Gin. Secure the lid and blend until a frosty slurry. Then, the individual who mixed the concoction, finds a turkey baster, takes the lid off, and proceeds to go around the gathering sucking up the concoction and blasting it down the throat of attendees. That person is then known as the "Master Baster"....LOL. Yes, at times, it was fun to be young. It actually tasted QUITE GOOD!!!
Perhaps it would be a fun virtual gathering here in the Blue Nebula Cantina....
Be well all, stay strong, and may happiness be yours!!!

@StrugglingMama, that does sound good! We made something similar when I was young. It was with lemonade, ice and vodka though. I was thinking recently that I miss drinking haha. Maybe I need to do it more often. I used to always have something in the refrigerator.

Here's to 2021, which will see me homeless on the lands my forefathers once occupied.

On the plus side, I'm thinking I'll move to Texas just so if I have to be homeless, I'll at least be where it's warm. No idea what to expect, but I'll be a stranger in a strange land. No opportunities seem to be coming my way, so away we go. lol I've got another $1900 to pay on this macbook, and I think I am going to use my whopping $600 stimulus to put on it. I always pay my debts. Once my car is fixed, and the debts are paid, I'm going to go claim an underpass somewhere near the coast.

For now, there is Skyrim on the PS4 (because I'm too lazy to mod it on PC right now). lol

I'd like a Green Lizard, bartender, and please send me your best cow so that I may choose my dinner?
Soon the cow approaches and encourages me to squeeze his rump to see how tender and juicy his meat is. What an excellent dinner!

We have genuine nerf burgers, here, served up by scruffy-looking herders...lol Or rothe-sausages. And we serve them up medium to medium rare. Anything more than that is uncivilized.

Also, you'll have to go out back to pick one--the Empire hasn't licensed us for livestock in the cantina itself. xD
