I know, this may not be "jump up and down", pop open the champagne excitement for most people... but I really struggle with things like making decisions and change.

I've been trying to replace my mattress for YEARS. Up until recently though, it was always "good enough" that I couldn't deal with the risk of something new being worse. (The mattress is about 18 years old, fairly hard at this point, and isn't working that well for me anymore.)

I finally... just now... ordered a new foundation and mattress online. After years of research, reading reviews, trying mattresses in stores, getting samples of latex foam sent to my house.

I'm excited. I'm also nervous. They'll take away my old mattress and boxspring, which is good (I can't move those myself!) but... part of me worries that I won't like the new one.

Realistically though, I've done as much research and due diligence as I possibly could. If I don't like the new one... it will be OK. There's a 100 day return policy, and a one year timeframe to exchange the topper for a different firmness. I can also try try the mattress without the topper, if it's too soft for me with it. So, I have oodles of options.

Anyway, I'm just going to celebrate that I finally made a decision, lol. My therapist is probably going to jump up and down on Tuesday when I tell her. She gets kind of worn out by all my "thinking" sometimes!

Thanks for listening!

I understand how huge this is! I bought my last set at Montgomery Ward - which tells you how long ago THAT was!!!

When is the mattress warming party?!
Thanks for this!

Unaluna - that's funny! Montgomery Ward... it HAS been awhile, hasn't it? My current is from Costco... circa 1999! I definitely got my money's worth from it thought!

Mattress warming party - ha! I hadn't thought of that!

Nammu - thank you! I just hope it works out. It's hard when you're trying to get a mattress online, without the ability to try it out first. But, I've done lots of research and reading and I think/hope this one will be a winner. *fingers crossed*.

Ha... now I have to wait for it to ship, then wait for the local company to get it, put it togther, call me, and schedule a delivery time. I think it could end up being a couple weeks, which feels strangely anti-climatic!

Cool, I hope it will be extra comfortable. I'm overdue for a new mattress myself but money is tight right now.

Absolutely a huge deal.......... My bed is my special place, even though my mattress is a bit worse for wear. Sleep for me is elusive at the best of times, so ensuring my sleep space is as comfortable as possible is very important. I am saving my pennies to buy a new mattress, so I totally appreciate how excited you feel.

Ooh, WishfulThinker66 - congrats!!! Did you buy something local, or order online? Were you nervous waiting for it? I'm excited, but have moments of panic when I think about them taking away my old mattress!

Thanks, Butterfly... and I know what you mean. Mattresses sometimes seem weirdly expensive for what they are! It's really easy to overspend on them, I think.

Quarterlife, thanks! Yup, you get it! My bed is pretty special too... I've been slowly revamping different parts of it (leading up to the mattress). A couple years ago, I got a wool comforter that is so snuggly and perfect. And, when my sheets needed replacing, I found some linen ones on sale, and they're softening up really nicely. It's all very cozy!

Thanks for letting me share my excitement!

Indeed guilloche.....lovely linen & bedding makes all the difference. But it need not break the bank if we are patient and know where to look. Over the years I have managed to collect some absolutely delicious heavy thread count cotton hospital sheets from charity stores...paying sometimes as little as $5 each, all they usually need is a whitening up with a good oxyaction wash. These 100% cotton sheets are divine to sleep in especially during the summer months...so keep an eagle eye out in your travels.
