I would give most of it away, keep about $40 million. Having $950 mil just causes problems and we can't possibly spend that much money anyway. I like to fish but if I bought a boat, it would probably just sit in my driveway. There are a lot of things I'd avoid because I'd never use them. I certainly *would not* buy the Cleveland Browns......that would be a complete waste of money.

I'd probably buy a classic car like a 1970 Chevelle or Challenger, a vacation home, and take a trip somewhere cool. I'd probably leave my job because it would be impractical to keep working, but I'm sort of young to retire so perhaps I'd start my own charity and manage the money.

Anyway, I'll be back here on Wednesday, living check to check and complaining about my mother. Toodles!

I can't comprehend that much money. I'd certainly spread it around my sisters and daughter would all get a forth of it. Even then there's more than I know what to do with. Like you I wouldn't buy much cause, yeah, I'd not use it. Probably would buy a home up north on a lake and become a hermit.

I'd like to become a hermit without the money.

I think I would just pay off my house, car any other old debt I have and then give a bunch away to my parents and sisters. I don’t really see myself spending much of it on big things like a big house or a fancy car because I don’t need them. I like my Nissan and my tiny house I share with my husband.

I'm in two pools, mega millions and powerball. I think it's split between 10 of us give or take a person or two. I cannot even comprehend such things. Hire a good attorney for starters. I think both, even divided, result in retirement? Trust funds for my kids would be a must. Some charity, of course. A home, but where? Find out how to avoid pitfalls that are often talked about with lottery winners?

I bought 7 ticket for luck...I would apparently have to pay like 37% as taxes, yikes then state tax etc. with the half I had left I’d still be rich, 1 million to each friend and immediate family to bring them to my level of zen, luckily I don’t have too many to do that for. Then a house in Hawaii and one somewhere in the mountains, a chauffeur because I hate to drive, maybe a private jet too. Then I would live a life of fun and learning...maybe I’d hire a few ted talk speakers just to teach me things or maybe I’d realize it’s not all about me and save money to invest in charity upon my passing. I’d probably visit Europe and Japan.

I can’t even think of anything I want now that I can’t already buy with my part time job paycheck. I have no desire to go on fancy European vacations. I would like to go to Disney Land but I’m sure I can save money and be able to go in 5 years or so. I can’t comprehend winning that much money. As long as I have money to go out to eat at a nice restaurant once a week and money to pay my bills which I already do, I’m good. Let someone else win who needs it more.

I like raging vortex's suggestion of buying out a KFC

My parents bought $20 worth and I bought one ticket.

My parents wouldn't know what to do. They're already retired and they said they wouldn't want to live anywhere else...before they retired I always hoped to retire them out.

I would retire myself and my brother out, and I would make sure my parents would never have to worry about money until they pass on.

Honestly, as far as housing goes, the only house I'd want is to have my grandparent's house when they pass away (they would be stubborn about accepting money, but I'd at least offer). That house has always felt the most "home" to me, and I think mansions are lonely, frivolous, cold, and a lot of upkeep. I'd spend a lot of my time working on the upkeep of the house, learn how to use all the tools my Papa used, learn how to garden, be a handyman, get a new working hot tub and maybe install a pool, although there really isn't the space for a pool. Maybe if I had that kind of money, I'd buy the houses surrounding the house and make an extension of my property with the plus side of having no neighbors on either side of me. I'm not sure if I'd keep the neighboring houses or demolish them. I'm sure I can come up with something creative to do with them, or to demolish the houses and create an Eden of my choice.

I wouldn't work again in the sense of a paycheck, but I would do a lot of volunteer work. I've always dreamed of working at the Queensland Zoo long before my late hero Steve Irwin was killed, and because I would have so much money, I could fly there from my home on weekends and fly back. I'd volunteer a lot with animals and do a lot of beach cleanups, and I would volunteer with the elderly. I think I'd continue to go to school. I love to learn. But if I had all the money in the world, I could fly over the world going to these big seminars and really learn something you can't learn in school.

I'm not a big car person, but I'd definitely buy something really nice. Dunno what, but most likely a classic car.

I would donate a tidy sum to animal rescue agencies, including rat rescue.

After that? I've been feeling selfish lately. I'd take that money and purchase a kiss-as$ home on the north coast (Calif) - a sweet, cool, creative, custom-done house - for my cats and I. Would have to have a spa. And a sweet-looking SUV to park in the driveway. The whole deal would overlook the Pacific (do you know that 'pacific' means 'peace'?).

I would have top-notch health care for my cats and I, traditional and alternative medicine.

I've pretty much traveled to the places I've wanted to visit, although I would return to Ireland - and I'd still like to visit the UK.

I know one thing: I'd find out who my true friends are.
Thanks for this!

I'd like to announce that I did in fact win the lottery but I'd also like everyone to know that I'll be hanging out on the Compulsive Liars thread for a while so I can work out my challenges.
Thanks for this!
