I do. I've been keeping it for five years now. I don't even know why I do it, to be honest, but I know that I can go to it with my frustrations, fears and half-hearted promises whenever I want. I don't write about my daily life down to the smallest detail but I try to mix the everyday with psychological insights and rants. What do you write in your journal?

I used to write in one a lot. But not anymore. A therapist I was seeing for awhile earlier this year had me writing in one for work related stuff. I stopped once I stopped seeing him though.

Hey, I keep one...for much the same use as you, it is really helpful for helping me process what's going on, and, so healing, in terms of getting things out of me. My Therapist says it's a really good selfhelp tool. I try keeping it daily (as was recommended to me) but, sounds like your getting the best possible benefits, out of exercise. Hope it continues to aid xx

I used to keep one a few years ago, I stopped though cause someone found it and blew up at me over writing stuff down.

I still occasionally write poetry but I guard that notebook with my life. Nobody is allowed to read it's contents (although I did share some of the poems in it online)

I've been journaling for years. Its interesting to look back on. I feel it helps me, I don't use it enough though. I need to start really expressing myself in it. I tend to just write about what happened during the day, what's been going on etc. I also have a weird habit of filtering myself because I don't want to be "negative" in it , which kind of defeats the purpose of venting , lol so thanks for this post. Maybe I'll start writing more in depth about my feelings, experiences.

I just started a couple weeks ago. I have it on my phone so it’s nice and convenient. I can jot down my frustrations as they happen and look back when I want. It was really hard to get started, and I think I still filter some of what I write, but it’s fetting easier.

I started mine in 2010, and I used to write in it 2/3 times a day- rants, and things what i'd been doing, deep secrets, etc. I'd talk to it like a friend- because I suppose that is the only friend I had (sad, right?)

as the years went past though I got sick of writing the same things in it- and now, in 2018, I mainly keep it to store my creative writing in it (my old creative writing,) it's lucky if it gets an update more than once every few months now

yeah I miss it but..

time moves on I suppose

I do agree that writing a journal can lead to frustration, especially if we end up jotting down the same stuff over and over, which is why I intend to start practicing gratitude in it. I've also found that my journal gives me motivation to stop repeating the same mistakes if only to stop recording my shortcomings and failures.
