Oo smoke flavor sounds good.

I'll dig around and see if I can find that cookie recipe I made a few years ago, mmm so good. They were lacy chocolate that's all I remember. That was back when I was on a ton of narcotics that had me flying sometimes.

I am Travelinglady, a 63-year-old lady, who comes to PC most every day to visit with friends, post about what little I know about things, especially when I see a thread that hasn't been responded to, play games, and provide more meaning to my life. I have bipolar, and even though I wouldn't wish it on anyone, my diagnosis has meant that I found PC and it has added so much to my life. Okay, I'll shut up now--and I can--since I'm not currently manic.

Who else do we have here?
Love how you structured this thread because it is nice to learn more about you and others at PC!

I am 55 and check in briefly at PC nearly every day. Sometimes I post, other times just give a few hugs. The psychiatrist I am seeing now says I had bipolar II but it is in remission (?) and panic disorder (that is definitely now in remission but does appear periodically). I have also been diagnosed with depression and generalized anxiety disorder (GAD). I am sure that I have had (for a number of years but not in my youth--I was very carefree when I was younger ) and still have GAD. Perhaps the GAD is just because of all challenges life throws at us?

I am happy and proud to be a part of this community. Lately, I try to post when I am feeling positive about life. When I am feeling negative or paranoid--I start taking more medications or eating more cookies/chocolate. Perhaps I am too hopeful that I can medicate away my weaknesses?

Every Christmas morning--I make a huge pan of chili rellenos (this is one of my family's favorite dishes)--how many side dishes I make depends on where I am celebrating. I did not decorate at all for Christmas. Not even sure if I will be at home on Christmas or be traveling to see my mother-in-law. I am not feeling the Christmas spirit--maybe this thread will help? Or some of LL's eggnog?

Hello I'm GLMS. I've recently been diagnosed with a mood disorder (Pdoc said most likely BP2) after thinking I had MDD/Anxiety for years. Mood stabilizer had done wonders.

This is the first year in a very long time that I'm looking forward to Christmas and all the preparations that go with it. We haven't put up any decorations yet but will soon. Probably won't do our usual tree because we have a 6mo puppy that would destroy it, if I turn my back for 2 seconds. We'll have to figure out something that is still "Christmasy" and puppy proof.

My name is SlumberKitty, but I go by Kit, and I haven't been on PC that long but I like posting here and reading what other people post. I have depression with psychotic features, anxiety, I'm on the autism spectrum, and a history of self-harm. I also dissociate but I haven't been diagnosed with a dissociative disorder that I know of. I live in So-Cal, and I love Disney/Disneyland. I work full time doing accounting/finance for a manufacturing company. I'm getting excited about Christmas. We are going to go to my sister's a few days before Christmas and celebrate with her, my brother-in-law and all my nieces and nephews. Then Christmas day will just be my parents and me and my pets, Esther, Amelia, and Emma. (Two cats and a dog). We've decorated quite a bit and I'm done Christmas shopping except for a few stocking stuffers. Church tonight for a Christmas program and Church on Christmas Eve of course. Christmas Day we will go see a movie. Probably Mary Poppins Returns. I also like eggnog, the kind without alcohol as I can't have alcohol with my medications. Kit

GLMS, how about putting a small tree on a table where the puppy can't reach it?

I was thinking about a small tree on a table, too, for someone with a puppy or a kitten. I did that last year and it worked well.

I'm still debating about putting up a tree. On one hand it seems like more work when I'm already worn out. On the other hand I enjoy decorating it. There is a story behind each of the ornament. I enjoy sitting and looking at the tree. On the third hand Miette (six month old kitten) is into everything in the house. I'm not sure if the ornaments or tree will survive her explorations. On the fourth hand I'm likely to be gone for a few days at Christmas. I may actually put the tree up when I get back home. That way I'll be here to enjoy it and to protect it from the marauding kitten.

Lizardlady and Travelinglady, we were thinking small table top tree as well. LOL either that or something that hung on a wall (if such a thing exists) or putting a metal doggy playpen thing. He can knock it over with his size but we've taught him to respect it when it was up before for potty training.

I think the table top tree is our most stress free option, I think we have one we used years ago somewhere in the basement.

Lizardlady, I remember from years ago our kitten was really destructive to our tree even though he was fairly small at the time. We would find his wild eyes starring back at us from inside the middle of the tree. He knocked off a lot of ornaments and even knocked the tree over a few times, which was hard to believe consider he wasn't all that big. Still wonder if the dog helped on that one. That tree looked a bit ragged by the time Christmas arrived.

My cat cares more about the boxes than she does the trees. Luckily, she's not one to scratch em up, but she'll sit on them and look at us like "These are for me. These are for me right? Open the box so I can sit in them."

Here's my baby girl playing with some empty boxes.

Not sure if you'll see the video (and not sure how to share videos via facebook) but here it is: Facebook

In the video, we put some cat nip in the box and she was rolling around the box chasing her tail and bouncing around. She was going wild and having a ball in what we call her "kingdom".

What a pretty kitty! I love tuxedos.

Are you all getting gifts for your pets for Christmas? We're even giving gifts to the kitty and doggy nieces and nephews and our grand dog!

Feel free to bring your pets to the Christmas party!

We usually have a stocking with presents for all our pets, but we lost ours for them and haven't made new ones this year.

Of course the critters get presents. I hand out apples and carrots to the horses. The chickens will get a suet block. The cats will get catnip toys and a new scratch pad. BG (dog) got his present a few weeks ago. His chew bone went missing so I got him a new one. Got him a Christmas themed sweater too. I don't like dressing up animals, but he has a very short coat and does not tolerate cold weather well. Good thing the poor boy lives in the south. He'd be a pupsicle if we lived up north.

Oh yeah, I scatter bird seed around the yard for the wild birds.

When I was a kid we had a dog that was very good about not bothering the presents. She never bothered with them. But on Christmas morning we would give her her present and she'd go to town ripping the paper off. Never messed with it until we gave it to her.

When my sweet kitty was alive, I'd pack her a stocking full of treats and catnip and new toys to play with.
We have two dwarf hamsters now, right now they have stocking gifts developing of new balls, a new pack of chew toys(yes, chew toys which they do use) and I need to go to my usual store to get each a bag of treats, they have a preference. I will probably pick up some fresh fruit or veggies closer to the day. Not that these aren't staples but maybe change up their usual?

This is a sad year for me pet wise. My 16 year old eskie that has been my soul mate for 16 years died last night from a lung tumor. His older sister & younger brother are still with me but Leo was the life of my farm.

This just really has taken me out of what little Christmas spirit I was feeling.....though I do have an invide for Christmas night to my close friends with their family. There are just so many activities planned & I really am not feeling social. Besides bursting into tears is not exactly the cheerful way to celebrate the season.

Let's imagine we have a big room here at PC to have our Christmas day gathering in. Let's see. Two big fireplaces (made of stone) on each end, with mantels on top of them. Plenty of tables for sitting and eating and putting all our wonderful food on. Now for decorating the place....Who would like to start? How many Christmas trees and where, etc?
Thanks for this!
