Look what came in the mail today! My grandma messaged me a week ago that I'd be receiving a surprise. I never would have guessed, especially when the package came in such a BIG rectangular box! I called her gushing over how adorable it was and what a happy surprise it was...I told her it truly made my day. A week or two ago my Mamma received a similar stocking that she posted pictures of and because I had said "So adorable, I wish I had one just like it!" she decided to send me one! I'm just tickled to no end about it! Ain't it just adorbs!? I'm going to tell my parents that I want to use it as my Christmas stocking. I just can't get over how adorable it is! Believe it or not, I grew up in Charles Schulz's home town, and right before I moved to Oregon I had my long-time tattoo artist put Snoopy and Woodstock on my left arm in ink to always remind me of where I came from in the most adorable way possible with the left arm being closest to my heart, as they say about the ring finger.

Let's hide some realistic looking birds among the tree branches and see who notices them. Can we hang stockings on the mantle?

I don't have any tattoos but if I got one--it might have to be a Snoopy one! Nice!

Do we have some folks who can be here a lot on Christmas Day to welcome folks and sort of coordinate things? I will be here in and out, since I have relatives visiting, including my sons who I haven't seen since February. Thanks so much!

Hey, I found a disco ball! Should I put it up? The Elfs can dance to YMCA!

A definite "yes" on the disco ball, but not during meal times, please. Maybe in the evening? What do the rest of you think?

Hi,

Stopping by to join the party. I'm a 25-year-old female and have high functioning autism, PTSD, and OCD (OCD is largely in remission).

Games sound great.

Hi everyone, great idea for a thread! I've been a member at PC for a few years, I'm 55 (sounds so old!) a distance runner, no diagnosed issues, but have struggled with financial anxiety off and on. I come here several times a week and mostly read posts. I love the interesting mix of people here! I'm looking forward to both daughters being home for Christmas, and we'll be making a mostly vegan feast for our family. I'm in the US/Central Time Zone and will try to check in here during Christmas Day/evening....post festivities.

Hi, all! I'll put holly with berries on the fireplace mantels. Who wants to light the fires (everybody okay with fires)? Great to be meeting you all and looking forward to "seeing" you on the big day!

It occurs to me that some parts of the world celebrate Christmas one day earlier than the U.S. So, I'm going to set everything early. Feel free to come both days.

I am going to set up a thread here in Social Chat of the food and drinks we'll be having and then a game thread. Feel free to add more games and explain how they will work.

As you meet people, feel free to venture off together to talk, like you would at an IRL gathering.

We have three more trees to decorate. Ideas?

Here's the thread for our feast (note that I added some items to menu): Our feast for Christmas Day (24 or 25)

Weather forecast for Christmas Eve: Ten inches of snow but no wind. Baby it's going to be cold outside but warm at our party. I'm going to the logs stacked up and ready to stoke the fire....

Thanks! Let's pretend the party is in Boston, Mass., since that's where DocJohn is. We'll have snow (whether he does or not), but it will not keep anyone from coming.

Here's the thread for the games: https://forums.psychcentral.com/gene...ml#post6373485

Anything else we need to do to get ready for our special day?

Oh, one more thing. Please welcome folks as they come in, if you aren't otherwise occupied. I'll check in from time to time. Yay! I'm looking forward to seeing you all! You can still introduce yourself on this thread until party time! Send me a message if you need some help with something, please.

Hello hello. Excuse my hair, I just got up and haven't had my coffee. I have bushel baskets full of angels and bells for one tree and another basket with santas from around the world for two of the trees. I thought just white lights for the Angels and multicolored slow twinkle lights for the Santa tree.....now who has ideas for the forth tree?

Wonderful! The fourth tree has some bows on it, but it could use something else.

Oh, also, feel free to come and go from the gathering, even eating lunch and supper and snacks. When you leave for good, make sure to pick up a goody bag. One item we could have in it is any book of the person's choice. What else could we have? (Many three or four more items?)

Hi lavender! How about little cats and dog ornaments ? Let every breed and coloring of cats and dogs be on the forth tree....or better yet everyone can hang pictures of their pets?
