I live in LA. Felt the earthquake good the other day, and just a few minutes ago a near 7 point quake hit. The earlier quake was a rolling quake, this one was a shaker. Much scarier. Things rattling, feeling like the building might collapse.
I'm freaked out. And I grew up with earthquakes. For some reason it's a lot scarier as an adult.

No warning today either, huh? I saw a guy on tv the other day saying, the warning system shoulda worked! Or some such doubletalk. Not really very assuring!

And this is why I won't live in Cali. I would be driven mad. Hope it calms down soon. {{}} I assume it must? As these are aftershocks.
I live no place near earthquakes but a few years ago we had a 4 ish and I was at work and it was darn scary. There was just this cracking sound that traveled and I felt unsteady on my feet. Humorous moment, the evacuated everyone in all buildings in the city as a precaution and this cab driver comes up to us and is terrified... wondering if there was a nuke coming. ![]() Poor guy. |

Family in San Diego. Found out from my sister they;re okay. Hope everyone who was affected by quake are okay too. Cherl27 I agee. Warning system would be helpful. For tidal tsuamis waves that frequently occur post quakes.

I'm good in terms of earthquake issues. It was mostly just scary versus any damage here.
I'm still struggling with this flare up of physical symptoms that started last Saturday, but it's manageable at this stage, so I'll take it. ![]() Hope everyone else is well too, and safe.

Glad you're physically OK, Seesaw.
I saw the earthquake on the news first thing this morning and it looked terrifying. I really hope things settle down quickly so you all can get back to normal. Sorry you're having to deal with it... I wish there was more we could to do help from far away! |

I guess I'm a little on edge. The last day or so anytime my bed or sofa shakes, I start to panic then realize it's just one of my dogs either dreaming beside me or shaking their fur or scratching or just moving, lol. Yeah, a little on edge for sure.

(((seesaw))) I'm glad you are okay and there was no damage. I've been through two 8+ earthquakes living here and their aftershocks. It definitely seems normal to feel on edge for a while after experiencing something like that. I know I sure did.

When I lived in Calif I was just south of Ridgecrest by about 80 miles. I lived north east of the Northridge quake by about 60 miles & almost on top of the Sylmar quake. I hated aftershocks....Seemed they always happened when I was in the bathroom
![]() Another small one I always remember was when I was working in Westwood & was in my window office on the 22nd floor. The building really swayed & it was only maybe a 3 something quake. Rolling quakes vs jolt quakes feel so very different. Glad you are doing well even with all the aftershocks.
