Halloween is near. Do you have any real ghost stories or other paranormal experiences? I met an older lady some time ago. You could tell she was once a looker but she was still refined. Her apartment was impressive. An attraction grew between us. Anyway I read in the paper she died. A few days later I was napping when the phone rang. The ID said Lucille-her name. Being a believer in such ghostly things I said Hello Lucille? a couple times. There was no answer. Later I talked to her son who was the only one with a key to her place. He said he didn't call from her phone and there was no other person who would have.

Yes...

One of the houses I resided in during childhood was haunted. I never felt alone as though something (good and kind) was always watching over me.

My son frequently talked about the man who sat on his bed. It didn't seem to frighten him. He just wanted to know who he was.

There was a room in my mother and father's home that my daughter and stepson refused to enter. My son on the other hand was quite comfortable and would say it was nice that we said good night and sung to him as he went to sleep (we were not). I myself never felt alone in the room although this time it was an anxious feeling. Years later I decluttered and staged the room for sale by turning it into a sitting room. Suddenly there was the feeling of calmness in the room.

I had a friend who claimed to have the second sight. Every time around Christmas when we held a party she would mention the man by the Christmas tree who always played with the decorations. Indeed, they seemed to move on occasion but we always assumed it was a draft.

And I had an unnerving experience years ago. The short version is that I saw three children peering out of the attic window of a vacant house I was there to see. When I told my real estate agent about the family that must have been in the home before me she freaked out and revealed the place wouldn't sell as it was reported haunted by the original family of the hundred year old home. It was so real I still remember it. They were laughing and waved to me. I had waved back.

WOW!

Ages ago, I worked in a small gift shop. The building was old, it was part of the St. Charles, MO historic district. The building had a hallway that went from the front door straight to the back, shotgun style. There were 4 small shops, two on either side of the hallway.

So, I was in the shop I worked for and a man holding a box on his shoulder, hiding his face, came through the front door and walked down the hall. He was wearing a purpleish plaid short sleeved shirt and gray slacks. I heard his footsteps. Then I heard his footsteps stop. I thought he might be lost, so I went to talk to him.

But, he wasn't there or anywhere I could find. The floors were wooden, there is no way he got out of the building without me knowing.

Another time, I was visiting the Lemp Mansion in St. Louis. It is GORGEOUS if you ever get a chance to see it, plus their food is divine! It is haunted and has been widely documented. Ghost Adventures has done a show about it.

Anyway, I was using one of the restrooms on the main floor. The bathroom was big with an Italian shower smack dab in the middle of the room. There was also a barber chair. I was standing in the room just taking it all in and the barber chair swiveled around to face me. I walked over to it to see if it was loose or something. I am fairly strong, but I could not budge it. There was no one else in the room with me, at least not that I saw.

I was talking on the phone with my friends when I was about 12. I heard my sister crying. I said to my friends “I have to go check on my sister because she’s crying” I found out my sister wasn’t even home. But for sure I heard her crying. I heard that crying noise a lot when I was a kid. I haven’t heard it though in years.

My partner is a blacksmith, rare for a woman, but her smithy has been haunted all the time her Grandfather worked at the forge, and continues this day.

She has seen a phantom cat, though Sooty, her's, is used to the spectre by now. It's really strange, but when she saw the cat, she took a photo on her phone, but the image never showed up. Also there is an old man seen around this time of the year and especially we look out for him on 31st October: All Hallows.

Neither cat spectre or the old man are harmful. They appear to be floating a few inches above the forge floor, and my partner thinks that the floor may have been built higher about 200 years ago when her previous relatives worked here. Perhaps the ghosts are on a different time plane? I don't know. My partner when she did some building work and renos also saw a spook. Passed her on the stairs it did. If it were me, I'd have shrieked.

The previous hospital I worked at as a doctor when on nightshift, sometimes my colleagues would see some spirit in the form of a patient gliding down an old corridor. During my night shifts I've seen a spook which resembled a silvery-grey veil, but certainly felt an unusually chilly area where I was positive had a presence, albeit unseen. Also down in the hospital's mortuary. Well, yeah exactly. Maybe it was an ancient mortician because there was a story going around that a mortician died while at work.

There were quite a few places in the hospital where nobody liked being in. Even our admins complained and were moved to another office, and one of them had such a scare that she resigned. Usually we doctors were far too busy to notice. Typical NHS pressures we had to work under.

Really, it's much better if people leave ghosting alone, because I believe this occult side can be potentially dangerous to delicate minds.

Oh, I have a collection of experiences! However, I will only share the two most memorable ones.

I have a habit of walking around the house, pacing really; it helps calm my nerves. Every now and then I get the sinking feeling of being observed. It doesn't occur often mind you but when it does, you can cut the tension with a knife. And when that happens, I don't feel safe pacing during certain hours (2-3am). On that night/morning I felt a terrible sharp slap on my right shoulder. The sheer force of it nearly sent me crashing! It really hurt and I basically ran to my room. I didn't pace for a few weeks after that.

My sister used to sleep in my room, until suddenly she didn't. After much goading I managed to extract the reason as to why. Apparently, one night she woke up for no good reason. She said she felt uncomfortable but didn't know why. It wasn't until she faced my direction that she realized the cause of her distress. There was a figure of a person, standing at the foot of my bed, watching me. I was sleeping (good thing too; imagine waking up to that). As you can imagine, she didn't sleep quite sound the rest of the night.

To this day, I sometimes catch glimpses of figures darting just beyond my peripheral vision and peeking around the corners. I try to pay them no mind. I'd like to think if I ignore it, maybe it'll go away?

I used to live in a big house with my partner and kids. Weird stuff kept happening. Doors would open and close in the middle of the night when no one was there. Cabinets and drawers. Bizarre phone calls that made no sense. We would hear people running up and down the stairs, but everyone was accounted for. Multiple people experienced this. Then, one night, I woke up to a woman in a white dress, standing right next to me by the side of the bed. She was quite beautiful. She just stood there, and then she turned around and walked away. Anyhow, we finally figured out the house was quite obviously haunted. We didn't tell the kids, but they're smart and the oldest would've figured it out soon enough. We moved.
