I never expected this to happen Here's what happened. I posted today on Facebook the following post:Now that we're in the holiday season I found out there's a French Christmas Carol celebrating one of their most distinguished mid 20th century painters. Its (drum roll) "Matisse Navidad"
I meant it as a joke and I thought it would be read as such. Well one of my women friends took it seriously. Now I do realize I could write on my post the truth but I'm concerned I'd hurt her feelings. I'm fearful she'll think I'm saying she's dumb.. My concern is not to hurt her feelings. BTW I stole the joke from Reddit Sixers . Original joke was Phila Sixers Christmas Carols. The original joke was a take off on Rookie Matisse Thybulle's name. |

Matisse Navidad! That's pretty good
 I'm guessing most other people got the joke, so she'll figure it out eventually. If it was me, I would just pretend I didn't notice that she missed it. If she figures it out and mentions to you how silly she felt, just shrug it off with a "ah, we all have those days, I just figured you were pretty tired that day" |

Ahhhh Id just not worry about it.
I post lots of memes and not everyone gets it. It’s all in good fun. And yes I love the yelling lady and the white cat LOL !

Don’t be offended if another person take it seriously it’s not your problem. It’s there’s maybe just explain it’s relevance to the joke.

It’s funny, dry humor. Don’t worry. Hey, maybe you can take a Matisse and add Santa hats and Christmas decorations on photo shop? It’ll go viral! Sell it on Etsy!

Thanks everyone for your practical advice. Its okay if not everyone gets my humor. Heck even the biggest comedy names bomb once in a while. OTOH I'm not comparing myself by any means to professional comedians. 3 people liked it. One, my sister thought ti was funny. BTW She's my biggest fan.
