Just wondering if any one else has chosen to go with unix (apple) or linux or whatever instead of Microsoft and why. I am running Mint right now and it is super easy. So much more reliable than W10 was for me. It constantly crashed and would not let me download anything or do a restore. it was garbage right out of the box.

For the most part, yes, haha. I have given up on most Microsoft products. I run Mac OS, but I run Windows 10 in Parallels (it enables me to run Windows simultaneously on my Mac without rebooting).

The only reason, though, that I use Windows 10 on my Mac is for work. And there are certain softwares that only work on Windows, such as a translation software I use.

If it weren't for that, however, I would only use Mac OS.

One Microsoft product I do like, though, is OneNote. I like using it to keep a journal and take notes on things, from therapy appointments, to school, to other things. You can make audio recordings in it. There are many interesting features. You can even use the Microsoft OneNote web page clipper to "clip" and save a webpage (such as an article or email) to your OneNote notebooks. So I find OneNote very useful.

even though microsoft can be a pain and irritating at times, not sure I'd ever switch

it's all I've ever known since I started using computers (I was even using windows 95 when it came out)

We have microsoft at work. The reason, there is something about Microsoft that doesn't work. I hope that is the software that is AI that tries to take over the world because it won't get very far. It constantly randomly breaks down and I have to reboot or close the program. I never have those problems with apple.

I bought a new laptop with Microsoft because we have Microsoft at work and it’s compatible and it’s cheap. I only use it for work so it’s no biggie. I don’t want to spend ton of money on work stuff, I already spend too much

I have one Windows machine, for gaming only, a raspberry pi 3 B+ running mostly retropie, a laptop running mint, another computer that will be on mint, an Android phone, and two opendingux handhelds. So I suppose I'm Linux laden, and proud of it! Penguin ftw!

I have tried a bunch of different linux distors, but Mint has been really easy so far.

I've run a bunch of them too. I used to be Debian only, but there are so many derived choices that work better. I keep a USB stick with Kali for fun
