I was going to post in the coping with emotions forum, but just don't have it in me tonight. I've been trying to manage my emotions the last few months. Have struggled not to let depression take over. I'm just too worn down by all kinds of things to fight anymore. Not even sure why I'm bothering to post this.

I’m sorry Liz how are things going with Covid in the area you are in in your state. Is anything opening up so you can at least get near people to socialize a bit in person?
Thanks for this!

Oh, liz. You have every right to feel as you do at this time. Please take care of yourself, though. This will pass. You know we are here to listen and send love.

Thanks everyone. I especially live the hugs. I'm a hugger in real life. I ache to be able to hug someone and get one in return.

Hi Lizardlady: Sorry to read your struggling. I too miss hugging my family, friends offline. That's what I hate the most about social distancing. OTOH I realize it must be done to slow down rona. My hugs and encouraging thoughts to you.

Liz, lots of hugs to you, dear one. :

I have to pace myself about virus news. I know it's out there, but all we can do is protect ourselves the best we can, knowing we can't control other people.

Actually, it might help if you don't keep up with the number of cases every day, since they will likely be going up for a while longer. Okay?

Meanwhile, enjoy your critters and try to find some time for pleasurable activities.

I'm a hugger, too. Hugging is something I miss tremendously. But I'm trying not to focus on the loss as much as having faith that before too, too long hugging will be okay again. Then hugging will be even better!

More *hugs*!

It's really hard here too. I keep telling myself, it's a marathon. Just keep focusing on getting through today as much as I can, and finding ways to keep myself healthy.

One day at a time... as much as possible (I'm feeling like the days are blurring together, so that's not helping).

*hugs*

All the isolation is especially hard on people who either live alone or feel alone (don't feel loved by the people they are with). Hugs really are essential. I have the impression you live alone. Am I right about this?

TunedOut, yes I live alone. Normally I love that I live by myself out in the boonies. Now though there are times the isolation gets to me.

Trav, thanks for asking. My emotions are all over the place. Isolation is a HUGE trigger for my depression. Staying home because of covid is making it a difficult struggle. I saw a news story last week about the number of people who did not previously have a mental health diagnosis who now meet the criteria for a depression or anxiety disorder. I decided I need to work a bit harder at using coping skills. I went back to limiting how much news I read. I tried not checking numbers every day. That made things worse. I have to know the current numbers. I compromised with myself and only check the numbers at one source once a day.

I really should post about all the other stuffbthats also going on. I just don't seem to have the gumption to do it.

It is not your fault. What has happened because of the virus is sad for many. Many are suffering. Plus, many of us at PC are prone towards depression. I am lucky that I do not live alone and realize how hard it is on those who do. Also, I am lucky that my psych drugs are effective. Hugs.

Okay, if you have to keep up with the latest data, then certainly do so. I didn't watch my usual shows last night that talk about the virus. I just know things are getting worse and I am continuing to stay in.

I sure miss getting out, though. I do have a husband and he's a great one to talk to. We rarely talk about the virus, though.

At least you are more isolated and not in the midst of a big city, dear one.

I'm in a pretty good place today, but feel myself starting to slip. Time to put down the phone and go do something positive for myself.
