My special friend and I have a big thing with the moon and stars. He reminded me about tonight's meteor shower. I completely forgot. He's a few hours away but it makes me feel good knowing we're going to watch it "together". We remind each other to take note every full moon, and for the last supermoon, he came over and we sat and watched the moon rise up over the trees. We both missed Neowise but we can't see them all. We've been this way ever since we saw Ad Astra...well, at least our passion joined as one (we've always loved the moon and the stars and space).

It's a little early for me to watch the meteor shower but in five minutes I saw 6 satellites in the sky. I'm going to wait until midnight before grabbing a blanket and watch the show.

Do you enjoy star gazing?

I've never really done it- I mean like proper, sitting outside, looking up at the stars

when I see them though they are beautiful and it is something that I would like to defenetly explore more.

when I was a kid, and I used to come back from my grandmother's house late at night, saw them all the time

I LOVE stargazing. What a wonderful thing to do with the special person in your life. I admittedly have not seen the night sky in a while. I live in the city / suburbs. I really miss it.

I live out in the country in Ky where there are no lights at night. I am keeping my horse at a neighbors barn up on top of a hill with a 360° view. I love going to to the barn at sunset & even later at night just to see the beautiful sky & stars. We had one clear night when the comet NeoWise was at its brightest. I don't have binoculars or a telescope but standing up on the hill at the barn with my horse, I could actually see the comet & it's long tail with my plain eyes. Exciting & amazing. We get meteors out here so bright it almost seems like I should be able to hear them hit the ground (sure they have burned up before getting near the ground though. On a clear night the sky is absolutely gorgeous filled with all the stars

The night sky is magnificent and absolutely fascinating!

The 2 planets, Saturn and Jupiter, that have been visible lately look spectacular near the moon.

Love-love-love it. I am an astronomy buff. In particular I love knowing about where the planets are and seeing them. Summer is a great time for planets. Right now Venus rises and you can see it until dawn. Mars is also "near" the moon early in the morning and at night Saturn looks like its below Mars, at least where I am. Vega is very bright this time of year with a blueish tint. Its part of the "summer triangle" part of Cygnus too. The way Saturn appears if you could trace underneath it, it appears to be "on top" of the constelltion Sagittarius ( the archer) Casseiopia is a good constellation to see, it looks like a stretched out W.

I used to love star gazing. I can find the basic constellations. Big and Little Dipper and Orion’s Belt. I haven’t actually done it in awhile although I did see some Stars when I was outside watching fireworks for Fourth of July and I remembered how much I used to like looking at them.

Here in the UK it's been great because of the lack of light pollution during lockdown. Also fewer aircraft, but that's changing now.

Did see SpaceX manned craft a few weeks ago. Looked up online if it was visible, very lucky that position of moon made it very easy.
