I was in grad school. I was getting ready to head to my practicum site. A friend called and told me an air plane just hit the Pentagon. My reaction was "No way. That's a Tom Clancy book." Turned the tv on to catch footage of the planes hitting the towers. Driving to my practicum was surreal. The roads are normally bumper to bumper. There was no one on the road. I passed the blood bank and the line of people there to donate went around the building.

Slumberkitty you're right. It was an unnerving day waiting to see what would happen next and were we at war.
