What fads do you vividly remember?

In the early 2000’s they used to have these rubber koosh balls with rubber spikes on a rubber string. It was a big deal because kids would get them wrapped around their necks. I’m not sure if anyone every died. I haven’t seen them in years I wonder if they deemed them too unsafe.

I also remember the LiveStrong craze of 2005. I had mine for about 12 years. It was a superstition to wear it. I never took it off. I was so glad when it finally broke.

I remember the Livestrong thing too. That must have been before Lance Armstrong admitted to using performance enhancing drugs.

You might be too young to remember this, but in the late 80s, early 90s there were these "slap bracelets". Basically it was like a metal strip that when you slapped it on your arm would coil around your wrist. I had to wear mine all the time.

I never did fad things growing up. My parents didn't have enough money for fad stuff.....guess it made me more of an individualist

I remember the crazy frog and groovy chick (the latter probably not so well-known), but they both came from ring tones originally

I remember how everyone wanted an Ipod when it first came out. I had one too, but I only used it for a few months- I just didn't like the headphone asspect (never been a fan of headphones)

oh: and I remember how big rugrats were over here, and also the tv series that's so raven (I was glad when that calmed down). it's an okay show, but how many episodes of raven can you watch in a day. (how much of anything can you watch in a day?)

I was never that into fads, but I do remember some mentioned above. I remember my mother bought me a Cabbage Patch Kid and also a few little beanie babies, that were ultra popular. She meant well, but they weren't really for me. More for her. At one point I had a talk with her and let her know that I didn't really like dolls, or stuffed animals, and to please stop buying them for me. The only doll I ever really liked as a kid was Barbie, and that was mostly because I wanted to play adult cool lady. Not mommy. I did like a giant Winnie the Pooh stuffed animal that I had at maybe 3 years old, but I was told that I tried to put Winnie on the toilet to go to the bathroom and it fell in. Mom had to toss poor Winnie. After that I never wanted another stuffed animal. I was more of a tomboy type, anyway. A fort and my bike were more my style.

I remember Hackysack balls. I never played it, but they were ultra popular when I was a young teen. Oh, one thing I was into were legwarmers in the early to mid 1980s. I was serious about ballet, so it was natural that I wore them then. If you don't know what they were, just google "1980s legwarmers".

you basically baught them (amy dolls they were called) then she'd act like she was a real baby and cry when she needed something- then you'd have to open up her box of accessories and see what she needed (so the bottle, the medicen, a rock in her little swing, a cuddle, a change etc), sometimes it would get annoying because you didn't know what she wanted (she had over 20 possibilities), and eventually mine got thrown out out of pure frustration

2 A.M in the morning.. you don't want to be feeding a doll (she would just turn on by herself when she needed something)
