Did anyone watch the Meghan and Harry interview this week-end? Feelings, opinions?

I haven’t watched it but I’ve read bits and pieces about it, about Archie not being a prince and some such. I generally wonder how long British monarchy is going to survive in the modern world...
Depending on how many seasons the Crown will continue, Megan and Harry’s situation would be an interesting episode. I don’t know if you watch the show, it’s quite good |

I saw commercials for it but didn’t watch. Megan strike s me as a California valley girl. I’m not much interested in her.

I'm also wondering why the monarchy still exists. I didn't watch the interview though. I watched and liked The Crown.

I watched it. I am a Royalist. I am a Harry fan
He has ruined my thoughts about him. I think he is a silly man for washing his hands of the firm as they call it. He has ruined his relationship with Prince Charles and Prince William. I can't see him coming back. This is similar situation to The Queen when her Uncle David went away with Wallis Simpson. The Queen was under pressure from our government to NOT allow him back into the country. The Crown will only run up until I think the early 2000's if that I do know Claire Foy and Imelda Staunton are playing the Queen in the last 2 series. Yeah I'm a geek lol! I honestly can't believe Harry has betrayed his family like this and not just that but the British people. If it wasn't for us the Royal Family wouldn't exist they run on our taxes. The Riyal Family is a good thing and brings in a lot of revenue for all 4 corners of the UK. So we need them. But this could ruin them Sorry, rant over lol! Only positive was they all looked fab and the scenery was gorgeous lol! |

I watched it.
A big thing that came out of it was Meghan disclosed she was suicidal. She said she begged for mental health help but ‘the firm’ would not allow it. I think they should not have done the interview. It was slanderous and made them all look bad.

You guys should watch it and see what you think. Meghan said the rift started over they did not allow Archie to be Prince. IDK why. She said tradition dictated he would, but they decided he wouldn’t. She seemed to allege it was over racism. This is a huge bombshell, but IDK all the facts. The press hounded her and this caused her to feel suicidal. She said she begged the ‘institution’ for help, but they told her they’ve all gone through it and it will pass, to suck it up. She begged for mental health help, but they refused. She said she asked to go to a hospital, but they refused. Oprah asked her to clarify, and she seemed to say they refused her a therapist altogether. They said they stepped down from their positions because of this pressure. But then the ‘firm’ wouldn’t give them the security and salary that the more minor royals get, which is what they wanted. They were cut off financially, so they had no security guards. The taxpayers have to pay for that and it costs millions annually. If they were not doing their jobs, why should the taxpayers pay? But this was the reason they left and had to support themselves and pay their own security. Then the interview got into mud slinging about flower girl dresses and such. I’m sure Harry and his FOO are broken hearted at this rift. I feel bad for Her Majesty, who is very old, her husband is dying, and her beloved grandson Harry has become estranged. Fact Check: Is Meghan and Harry's Son, Archie, Not a Prince Because of a Rule? ^This article explains the reason Archie is not titled Prince (only for now- which Meghan did not explain as temporary)

I watched the interview. I hope the royals can work through this.
What amazes me is the gargantuan tide of media, talk shows, "news" that followed as if there was nothing else to talk about. Media is so sick and twisted that is has no moral compass, no ability to self regulate. Media has thrown away her sense dignity and is now feeding on its own carcass. Media is imploding over this interview. Sickening.
