Proud of going back to college in my 40s and earning a Master's degree.

Proud of becoming licensed in my profession.

Proud of the person I am. Most of my life I considered myself damaged goods. The reality is that I'm a pretty cool person. I'm by no means perfect. I have my flaws, but all told I'm an okay person. I am the kind of person I would like to be friends with.

I'm proud of myself for cooking today.

I'm proud of myself for being who I am too. I'm driven, goal- oriented, I am very intelligent, and both kindness and assertiveness are important to me. I'm also a work in progress.

I'm proud of myself for applying to a job today.

I'm happy I posted this. I hope it gets some more notice.

I'm really happy for all of you. Downandlonely, that's huge. Amazing. Lizardlady, that takes so much hard work and sacrifice. WovenGalaxy, I hope the meal turned out great, and yes, applying for work is really hard. Hate doing job searches, personally.

I am proud that I fought pressures to quit college & ended up getting my degree, be a mom & hold down a successful computer engineering career.

Fast forward to the last 14 years, I am proud that I left a 33 year bad marriage & moved 2100 miles away to my little farm I bought in a state where I knew absolutely no one. I am now an established & accepted member of our small town farming community & life is really good in spite of the continued legal battles I keep having against my ex. I finally love life & the people around me. It feels good to be considered a good neighbor by the other farmers & neighbors around me (lol....after helping one round back up his escaped cattle)

At first it was about survival & getting my sanity back. It turned into much better than JUST that

This is all really heartening.

Woven Galaxy, are you making supper today? I made chicken and sweet potatoes yesterday.

OK, I'm taking a turn

I'm proud that in my middle age, I began taking on renovation work on our home that was way outside of my comfort zone, and lo and behold, it looks better and is stronger than work we've hired people for previously.

I'm proud that I've been able to use my job to help people move forward in their careers.

I'm proud that our oldest kid, HS student, turned things around from making some real bad choices to getting honors, doing well in sports, and doing well in a part time job.

Back in 2019, my blog was mentioned in a "Top 10 Bipolar Blogs" post on a well-regarded mental health related website. Other blogs mentioned included the very popular Bipolar Burble. I'm not actually found of Natasha Tracy's blog, though I do respect her efforts.

Today I'm proud because:

I am becoming more aware of the emotions going on inside me, and my reactions to them. I was able to change a reaction I had today, from something negative to something positive and I ended up catching my second wind in the afternoon, when usually I get tired and depressed. I was productive instead and my mood was upbeat.

My hat was on backwards in therapy. But it was annoying me. So I switched it around in therapy and my therapist saw my hair. No one sees my hair. I always wear my hat. But I felt she was a safe person.

I finally told my family about my condition (Situational Depression) and my triggers, and they didn't react negatively as I thought they would. Long story short, we broke down crying and they were really supportive. I'm emotional just typing this out; like a gigantic burden was lifted off my chest. Mental health is not really something our family talks about, but I hope my situation gets the ball rolling for them to open up, too.

I went outside and walked my dog today. My therapist advised me to try to go out whenever I can which is why I took my 'lil gal for a quick stroll. An looming of covid has been affecting me lately, so I'm a little proud of myself for mustering up the courage to go out.

Work-related, but I'm not really the brightest bulb on the shelf especially since I'm a little older compared to my colleagues and with our remote set-up, I can't really tap a coworker right away and ask for help. I've been assigned a client recently to build this convoluted sales automation system (something like this) and the client was really happy with the output! I was scared sh**less if I'm being frank.

Lastly, I'm proud of myself for reconnecting with a few relatives and my friend these past few days. I've messaged them on messenger and set up coffee dates with a few people. In general, I've always isolated myself from others and I'm glad I have people that respect my space. But I'm on a journey of coming out of my shell, and these are the baby steps I'm trying to do.

Today is a good day, I'm proud of you all too!

I have been feeling exceedingly dark and hopeless lately, like it would never get better and it felt like the best thing to do would have been to give up. I've been at my worst the last couple of weeks.

Yesterday, in a brief moment of clarity, I decided to go to the doctor. I'm going next week. I decided to give my life one last (more) fight. As soon as I hung up, my anxiety dropped tremendously. Proud of myself, that I would choose to fight.

I'm also proud of you all.

I'm proud that I was able to take my plus sized clothes (1X - 3X) to the trade clothes store, got credit and was able to go pick out clothes from the XL racks! It was a very nice visit and the store manager was so happy for me that she threw in 2 tops for free. I really needed the clothes and the boost in confidence! 💜
